A few years ago I bought the cutest pineapple marble acacia cheese board from Anthropologie. If you were to ask me how many times I’ve entertained with it over the years, I’d have to plead the fifth! It’s absolutely darling, and very trendy…I’m just not the best at decorating with food! Thanks to Kelsey Nixon, I have a new-found confidence. This morning the Cooking Channel “Kelsey’s Homemade” host, stopped by the Today show to share her entertaining tips. Cooking Channel Kelsey’s Homemade Host, Kelsey Nixon Shows You How To Make The Perfect Snack Board For Your New Year’s Eve Party On The Today Show!
The first snack board that Kelsey Nixon showed Carson Daly how to make consisted of meats, cheeses, crackers and fruit! One of the great tips she shared was to start at the center of the board. I love that you can use any board you have! Carson suggested using a cutting board, and Kelsey thought it was a great idea.
If you love bruschetta as much as I do, you will absolutely adore the bruschetta tray/board they made! This is not only perfect for your New Year’s Eve party, but it will be great during the summer when fresh tomatoes are in season. I can definitely see having this at your 4th of July party, summer barbecues, pool parties, bridal showers and more. She used a cookie sheet as the main tray (with arugula). She then placed small glass bowls with soft cheeses, bruschetta, pesto, olive oil and balsamic. They finished it off with crostini! It looked absolutely perfect.
If you love sweet and salty snacks, you’ll love the sweet and salty snack board! They included popcorn, chocolate candies, white chocolate pretzels, cheese and much more. I don’t know about you, but this segment really helped my confidence! I don’t feel quite as intimidated knowing that you can included a little bit of everything to create the perfect snack board.
