I had a love-hate relationship with my hair up until about four years ago. I loved that my hair was thick, but hated that it was dry, damaged, frizzy, wavy and just in awful condition. My long hair lacked bounce, was as stiff as a board and had no movement when I flat ironed it or tried to curl it. Other times it was as big as a house and as frizzy as could be. I’d tried keratin treatments in the past, and loved the way my hair looked but hated how horrible I felt when my hairstylist was doing it. The coughing, congested feeling and tickle in my throat I experienced weren’t worth it. My dry damaged hair looked awful, felt awful and was in poor condition.

Over the years I’d tried numerous products with zero luck. I had heard about Drybar salons and was envious of how gorgeous everyone’s hair looked on their Instagram account, but at that time there weren’t any Drybar salons in my area. In February or March of 2016, I saw that someone had shared their love of Drybar products and thought I’d give them a try to see if they lived up to the hype and could improve my hair. This woman’s hair sounded like it was exactly like mine and their products had really helped her. On a whim, I bought the Drybar Sake Bomb Nourishing Shampoo, the Bay Breeze Hydrating Shots, and Mudslide Mask. I wasn’t impressed with the shots, but the Sake Bomb shampoo and mask have been absolutely life-changing! I went from absolutely hating my hair to loving it.

I’ve shared my adoration for Drybar and their cruelty-free products on the blog countless times and on Instagram, and thought I’d dish on my favorite hair products for dry damaged hair including a new product I found about six months ago that I absolutely love.

The Most Hydrating Shampoo For Dry Damaged Hair

Drybar Sake Bomb Shampoo

What can say about this shampoo other than it is very hydrating.  One of the ingredients in the shampoo and conditioner is keratin! When my hair was extremely damaged, I’d wash my hair with this and then follow up with their mudslide mask for extra hydration. Now that my hair is in better condition, I occasionally use the Drybar On The Rocks Clarifying Charcoal Shampoo to remove buildup and cleanse my scalp due to hard water/well water since I live in a rural area.

The Most Moisturizing Mask For Damaged Hair

Drybar Mudslide Mask For Dry Damaged Hair

This mask is worth its weight in gold. Argan oil, yuzu oil, and golden root extract just a few of the phenomenal ingredients. Never in my life have I ever used a hair product this amazing. If I could buy stock in it, I definitely would. My only hope is they never discontinue it! This mask helped repair my hair in no time. When I started using these products, my hair was extremely damaged from being dyed black and then bleached! I never wanted my hair that dark, but my stylist said my hair had to be one color before dyeing it blond. Unfortunately, the color turned out much darker than I had expected. It was horrendous! The tips were disastrous, I had awful split ends and it felt like straw. I absolutely hated it.

My hair started improving immediately upon using it. For the first time (other than when I had keratin treatments) my hair would actually curl (and hold a curl)! I was so excited to finally have long healthy-looking hair. This was a dream come true!

Amazing Conditioner For Hair That Needs A Bit Of Hydration

Drybar Sake Bomb Conditioner

About six months ago I decided to buy a small bottle of the Drybar Sake Bomb Conditioner, just to see how I’d like it. I must admit, I really do! Goji berry extract and keratin are just a few of its amazing ingredients! It’s not as hydrating as the mask, but is absolutely incredibly. I truly believe it’s great to switch it up! I now use the mask a few times a month instead of every single time since my hair has improved so much!

My Favorite Heat Protectants For Dry Damaged Hair

Drybar Hot Toddy

This heat protectant is absolutely amazing! I have used it for years and love it. According to the website, it has “artichoke leaf extract, which prevents dehydration and protects the hair cuticle from high temperatures A Polymer Complex protects against heat from hot tools and helps to temporarily seal split ends for an overall healthier appearance. UV protectors shield hair from both UVA and UVB rays that can cause dryness and color fading.”

Since my hair is very thick I have to crank my hair tools up to 400 and 450 degrees, so I’m extremely grateful that it protects hair up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This heat protectant comes in a mist or in a tube. As a migraine sufferer, I only use the lotion in a tube. I’m not quite sure why mists and sprays trigger migraines, but they do! Can anyone else relate?

Drybar Jump Start  Quick Blow Dry Serum

I purchased Drybar Jump Start Quick Blow Dry Serum in August at the Sephora Sale, and I really like using it! It not only helps my hair dry faster, but it is also a heat protectant (up to 450 degrees). I know it’s a quick blow dry serum, but I used it a lot when I’d air dry my hair in the summer and it worked really well. Since I tend to curl my hair a lot, I like to dry my hair when it’s about 80% dry or not at all! PS: I bought a T3 blow dryer on Black Friday and it is absolutely phenomenal! My hair actually feels smoother when I use it. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a blow dryer!

These are my favorite hair products for dry damaged hair! I have even more hair products and tools that I love, and I’m looking forward to sharing them soon!
