From co-hosting Golden Globe red carpet coverage on Sunday night, to hosting On-Air with Ryan Seacrest daily, and let’s not forget about American Idol which premieres tomorrow night, it’s easy to see why Ryan Seacrest is widely known as one of the busiest men in television. And he’s adding one more item to his plate, his hit show on PBS Pioneers of Television which is back for a third season and premiering tonight! The Emmy award winning, four part program which Seacrest narrates, tells the stories behind iconic TV stars and the shows that made them household names, and will air at 8 pm PT tonight.
Tonight’s episode titled “Funny Ladies” will showcase groundbreaking female comedians like Joan Rivers, Betty White, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Burnett and the late Phyllis Diller (who made her final television appearance in an exclusive interview) who got their start in the early days of television and are still influential to today’s comedic actresses.

Future episodes of “Pioneers of Television” include “Primetime Soaps” (January 22), “Superheroes” (January 29) and “Miniseries” (February 5).
NEVER BEFORE SEEN CLIP of Ryan Seacrest describing how Carol Burnett got her big break with a song about loving “the world’s most boring man.”
