One of the biggest blessings and greatest things I love about working from home is that I get to spend a lot of time with my dogs. I’m definitely one of those people who would do anything for their animals. When we thought we were going to lose our Weimaraner Fred a few months ago due to cysts on his kidneys, I contacted nearly every person I know and clients I’ve worked with letting him know about his condition just in case they knew of someone who could help. Thankfully he’s doing better (knock on wood) he still loves to go for walks, and playing with his “siblings” but there’s one thing he dreads and I dread, and that’s giving him a bath. It is the absolute worst! It reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad would have to lie to get me to the dentist. The dread, the fear and well, Fred gets the same panic-stricken look in his eyes that I did during those early years! I’ve tried so many different things, I’ve even resorted to using wipes because he gets so anxious. I just don’t understand how he could love swimming in our pond, but hate baths so much?
When I heard that pet expert Laura Nativo was going to be on Hallmark’s “Home & Family” show this week sharing pet bathing hacks, I was thrilled. I took notes while watching the episode and can’t wait for the weather to warm up a bit next week so I can try giving my Freddy boy a bath. Did you happen to catch the segment? I have video below to share with you. Hope it helps!
Tune In: Home & Family airs weekdays at 10 am ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.

Pet Bathing Hacks
Laura Native gives you some pointers when it comes to bathing animals. She advises you to avoid using the hose outside on your dog, especially during this cold weather. She recommends putting an old towel down in the tub, so the dogs feel more secure. Adding cotton balls to your pet’s ears can help avoid infection. She also suggests blending the shampoo with warm water, so it is more soothing on their skin.
