Celebrate the Masters Golf Tournament in Style: Outdoor Entertaining Ideas, Golf-Inspired Decor, and Delicious Homemade Treats
The 90th Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia is set to kick off in less than a week, and I can’t wait! If you’re a fan of the Masters golf tournament and love entertaining outdoors, you’re going to adore this golf-themed garden party I hosted in honor of one of the most iconic events in sports. From nostalgic decor and family mementos to sweet treats and savory snacks, this celebration brought together everything I love most—family, “tradition unlike any other” (thank you Jim Nantz!), delicious food, and beautiful outdoor living.

A Golf-Inspired Tablescape to Celebrate the Masters

I styled our outdoor dining table with a green faux grass table runner that instantly brought the golf course to life. I used my all-weather wicker dining chairs for a cozy and casual atmosphere and set each place with elegant Certified International Perlette dinner plates topped with fun golf ball-shaped paper plates.

Green and white striped straws added a pop of Masters signature color, while faux grass coasters kept drinks from tipping. The napkins, printed with crossed golf clubs, tied the entire theme together perfectly. I included my brother’s golf trophies he won when he was a kid, and my grandpa’s antique driver that my dad had restored just months ago. It truly was magical and incorporated everything I love – my family, golf, and delicious food.
Delicious Golf-Themed Food & Drinks

The Masters-inspired food I made was both festive and flavorful! Here’s what I served:
• Charcuterie Board With Southern Flair:

I used a wooden paddle cheese board loaded with fresh cherry tomatoes, blackberries, cucumber slices, pimiento cheese, brie, crackers, a salami rose, and olives. The best part? Golf-themed cheese knives with handles in the shape of golf clubs and golf balls make this charcuterie board a Masters champion!
• Homemade Grass-Frosted Cupcakes with White Chocolate Golf Balls:

I topped each cupcake with “grass” made out of frosting and molded white chocolate “golf balls” using a golf ball silicone candy mold and white candy melts. They were a huge hit!
• Peach Ice Cream Sandwiches With Sugar Cookies:

I made these delicious Georgia peach ice cream sandwiches using sugar cookies and peach ice cream scooped with my trusty Thrifty ice cream scoop. They’re a nod to the famous Georgia peach ice cream sandwiches the Masters is known for.
• Arnold Palmer Drink In A Pitcher:

No Masters celebration is complete without the iconic Arnold Palmer drink—iced tea mixed with lemonade served in a clear glass pitcher.
Family Heirlooms and Thoughtful Touches

What made this setup extra special was incorporating family keepsakes:
• My brother’s golf trophies were displayed proudly.
• My grandfather’s vintage golf driver, which my dad had beautifully restored, was laid across the center of the table.

• A Masters flag was placed beside a white modern 16″ planter full of blooming pink azaleas, the official flower of the Masters Tournament.
Masters-Inspired Relaxation Area “Clubhouse Area”
I styled a relaxing spot in my backyard (my clubhouse area!) using two white Adirondack chairs adorned with Masters Tournament pillows. Between them sat a small side table holding a Arnold Palmer drink and a fun golf ball sippy cup, which is not only perfect for kids, but is fun for adults too!

My favorite detail of the day? Our sweet dog Griffey dressed as a Masters caddie, proudly wearing a custom caddie uniform with a white bib with my brother’s name. It was a heartfelt tribute that brought tears and smiles to our family.
What to Wear to a Masters Golf Party: Festive Spring Outfit Inspiration

When planning our backyard Masters celebration, I knew I wanted to wear something festive, fun, and spring-ready, something that felt like a nod to Augusta’s blooming azaleas, Masters green, and signature Southern charm. I found the perfect dress for the occasion: the Eden Print Sleeveless Linen Blend Minidress by Wayf from Nordstrom.
This gorgeous and affordable green and pink floral print dress is lightweight, flattering, and ideal for warm spring weather. The sleeveless silhouette, square neckline, and breezy linen-blend fabric made it comfortable for hosting outdoors, while the vibrant pattern captured the essence of Masters weekend perfectly. I paired it with simple sandals and minimal accessories to let the dress shine. If you’re under 5’4″ like I am, you will be pleased to learn that this dress is petite-friendly! As for sizing, I sized down.
Whether you’re hosting a party, attending a golf-themed brunch, in need of a dress for Easter or simply want something cute for spring (or summer!), this dress is a beautiful and versatile option.

How to Host a Masters Party at Home: Tips & Essentials

Whether you’re hosting friends or simply celebrating with family, here are a few ideas you can use:
• Decor: Use faux grass (table runner and/or coasters), golf balls, trophies, and striped napkins to create a cohesive theme.
• Food: Feature Southern favorites like pimiento cheese, iconic Masters food such as egg salad sandwiches, barbeque sandwiches, pimiento cheese sandwiches, or peach ice cream sandwiches. You could also create a menu based on the Masters Champions Dinner! I was tempted to make chocolate chip skillet cookies with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert since that is featured on 2024 champion Scottie Scheffler’s menu this year!
• Drinks: Serve Arnold Palmers in tall glasses with striped straws or the Masters tournament’s signature cocktail, the classic Azalea Cocktail.
• Florals: Add pink azaleas in a vase or an azalea plant in a planter (or in your garden) for an authentic Augusta touch.
• Sentiment: Include personal items that honor your loved ones who enjoyed the game.
