The 4th of July evokes many nostalgic and happy memories from my childhood. I can vividly picture my grandpa barbecuing, my aunt and uncle decked out in their trademark red, white, and blue t-shirts, and me helping my grandma pass out the cake and ice cream after dinner. Over the last few years, I have started to enjoy (in fact, I look forward to) creating gorgeous tablescapes for every holiday and special occasion with beautiful decor, fresh flowers, and amazing food! Like many of you, I love baking and entertaining friends and family throughout the year. Especially in the spring, summer and fall when we tend to dine outdoors! My Favorite Kitchen Gadgets For Summer Entertaining
Kitchen gadgets are my weakness! I love using my KitchenAid stand mixer every chance I get and trying new attachments! So far I have an ice cream attachment, a spiralizer. And a shaved ice attachment which are ALL ideal for summer! The shave ice attachment is perfect for making snow cones, cocktails and that is just the beginning!
This KitchenAid shaved ice attachment comes with four molds and is very easy to use! All you do is add water or your favorite beverage to the mold! After you fill the mold with your favorite beverage (and place the plastic lid on top), put it in the freezer. Once it is frozen, take the mold out of the freezer, pop the ice out (of the mold), and attach it to the shaved ice attachment, and turn it on. It is that easy!
Like many of you, I love watching instructional videos to learn how to use gadgets. This YouTube video was helpful and showed me how to use this attachment properly!
Nostalgia Old Fashioned Electric Ice Cream Machine
Ever since I watched my grandpa make homemade ice cream in his antique wood ice cream maker when I was a kid, I have wanted one! I can vividly remember begging my parents, but they never obliged. I don’t know what took me so long. But I finally bought the wood Nostalgia Electric Bucket Ice Cream Maker for my birthday a few weeks ago, and I’m obsessed!
Right after my vintage-inspired wood ice cream maker arrived, I got it out of the box and pulled out the instructions and recipes. As someone who loves gadgets but hates putting things together, I was excited to learn that it is easy to assemble! After I washed everything (except the motor), I put the canister in the freezer and started mixing the three ingredients for homemade chocolate ice cream. After I did that, I put the chocolate ice cream mixture into the canister. And placed it back into the freezer for 30 minutes.
Once my timer went off, I placed the canister in the middle of the ice cream machine. I started layering crushed ice and ice cream salt (rock salt) around the canister (and filled it to the top). After I placed the motor on top of the machine and plugged it in, it was smooth sailing! Within 30 minutes, I had delicious homemade chocolate soft-serve ice cream that my family and I have been devouring ever since!
This fantastic ice cream machine is perfect for the 4th of July and will also be a staple all summer!

Beautiful 4th of July Cake
What better way to celebrate America’s 247th birthday than with a beautiful cake and ice cream? While I consider myself a novice baker, I must say that my KitchenAid stand mixer and Nordic Ware cake pans help me up my game! I have quite the collection of Nordic Ware pans. I love this versatile modern Round Heritage Bundt Cake Pan, it is my absolute favorite. It has the power to wow your guests! Since I love red velvet cake, I used a boxed red velvet cake mix and added my ingredients to my stand mixer, and coated my cake pan with shortening and flour. After baking the cake, I let it cool and then transferred it onto my beautiful domed glass cake stand.
I made a cream cheese glaze to drizzle down the sides, topped it with farm-fresh blueberries and I cut strawberries into stars so the cake was red, white, and blue!

Wayfair has the best Fourth of July decor and entertaining essentials! These fun and festive retro-inspired Gracie Oaks Coveney Cotton Geometric Square Napkins come in a set of six and will elevate any tablescape! I love everything about them, especially the blue stars and the red trim! They are made of 100% cotton and are machine washable. I had to wash a few the other day after spilling a bit of my snow cone on them. They were so easy to clean and are perfect for the next celebration this summer.
