I have been plagued with sensitive skin for as long as I can remember. About eight years ago I developed cysts on my neck that I couldn’t get rid of, it was horrible and incredibly embarrassing. I never wore my hair up and no amount of concealer or foundation would cover it up. I visited dermatologists and doctors, but nobody couldn’t figure out what was going on with my skin. It wasn’t until my grandmother’s nurse came by for a home visit in 2012 and we were chatting about skincare that she told me to stop using dryer sheets, and to only buy laundry detergent, and soap that is fragrance-free. That nurse was 100% right, just by making those small changes in my life, my skin improved and the cysts on my neck disappeared. I am forever grateful to her!
I do my best to check the labels when I shop, but at times it can be tough as it’s nearly impossible to know if the soap really is 100% all natural as the label claims. Sometimes there’s nothing better than making things on your own, especially when you have a known allergy to particular products. I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing natural lifestyle expert, Sophie Uliano various times over the years about going green and being conscious of the environment. She’s the author of “Gorgeously Green” and shares amazing DIY tips and ideas on a variety of topics on one of my favorite shows “Home & Family“, where this week she dished on how to make DIY all natural hand soap!
If you’ve always wanted to make your own all natural hand soap, but never thought it was possible, you’re in luck! I’m excited to share this great instructional video below with “Home & Family” hosts Mark Steines, Cristina Ferrare and natural lifestyle expert and author, Sophie Uliano on making amazing all natural hand soap (that is triclosan-free) with three ingredients you may have around your home: liquid castile soap, aloe vera gel, and vegetable glycerine! These three ingredients will ensure your hands are cleansed and hydrated. Enjoy! PS: I shared links on where to find the ingredients she mentioned in the post.
