This week we have been treated to so many amazing sales! The Shopbop Sale kicked off a few days ago, so did the Pottery Barn Friends and Family event. Today, my favorite beauty sale kicked off at Sephora! If you’re a VIB Rouge member, today is your lucky day. You can save 15% off on every moisturizer, eyeshadow palette, eyeliner, shampoo, conditioner, hair tool (and more) at the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale.
I’ve always loved beauty products, but a few years ago I found watching Youtube makeup tutorial videos to be therapeutic and inspiring when my grandmother passed away. I can’t tell you how life changing it was for me! I finally learned how to make my downturned eyes look larger with eyeliner, I learned how to use a curling wand properly, and I finally bought my first Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette based on tutorials. I have battled acne off and on, had a love hate relationship with my thick coarse hair that frizzes, and can honestly tell you, finding the perfect products has really made me feel better about myself and improved my confidence.
If you’re searching for a new eyeshadow palette, a great moisturizer for your sensitive skin, an amazing curling wand or flat iron for your thick coarse hair, etc., you’re in luck! Today, I’m sharing a few life changing products that I absolutely adore at 15% off during the 2018 Sephora VIB Rouge Sale. PS: The sale is happening now (Friday, April 13, 2018) until Monday, April 16, 2018. Enter coupon code: YAYROUGE at checkout to save. No worries VIB Members, the sale will start soon for you too. 🙂
Save On Eyeshadow Palettes At The Sephora VIB Rouge Sale
Eyeshadow palettes are all the rage these days! I rely on my Urban Decay and Tarte palettes on the daily. The one palette I use the most though, is definitely my Urban Decay Naked palette. This is the first one that Urban Decay released years ago, and I feel it complements my blue eyes the best. The shadows in these palettes have a great consistency, blend well, and look amazing on. It’s a rarity when you find one on sale, especially by Urban Decay or Tarte! I’ve featured a few favorites here.

The Best Waterproof Eyeliner
The Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in blacquer has been life changing for me. I received it as a sample in 2015, and absolutely adore it. It’s waterproof, and is formulated without parabens, Phthalates, sulfates. My eyes can be very sensitive, there are so many different eyeliners and mascaras I can’t use, but this one has never given me trouble. In fact, I was devoted to Mac eyeliner since I was a teenager, but as soon as I found this, I was hooked. It comes in multiple colors! I love using black eyeliner, and should also mention that if you’re looking for it in black (blacquer), be sure you grab it ASAP. It sells out all the time! The last time I bought it around Christmas EVERYONE was sold out of it. It’s that popular. PS: When it was sold out, I tried the highliner gel eye crayon eyeliner by MJ and it is amazing as well. It glides right on!

Holy Grail Mascara On Major Sale!

If you love Sephora as much as I do, you know that they give away the most amazing samples! I found my favorite eyeliner through one of their samples, and as luck would have it, I found the best mascara on the planet through one of their samples as well. As I mentioned above, my eyes are very sensitive. I have the hardest time finding mascara that won’t irritate my eyes. A few years ago I was sent the Guerlain mascara in a gold tube and instantly fell in love. I remember my mom asking if I had gotten fake lashes because my eyelashes looked so long. When I told her it was the mascara, I bought her one and she became hooked as well.
When I heard about the Guerlain Maxilash Intense Volumizing Mascara, I knew I had to give it a try. It’s phenomenal! My mom and I are both hooked. We won’t use anything else. If you’re looking for a great mascara that lengthens, volumizes your lashes, you will love both of these mascaras!

Classic Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Pencil
If you’re a fashion blogger, beauty blogger, or someone who enjoys watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, I guarantee you know about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Bro Wiz eyebrow pencil everyone raves about. I tried it a few years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. I may have been blessed with thick hair, but unfortunately I wasn’t blessed in the eyebrow department. I have thin eyebrows, which are non-existent unless I fill them in. I used to rely on the Benefit Gimme Brow eyebrow gel but once they discontinued it, I started using this. I love this pencil, and will definitely be restocking at this sale. It lasts forever! UPDATE PS: The Benefit Gimme Brow eyebrow gel that is back in stock which makes me so happy! I’ve shared it in the Shop The Post widget along with the Anastasia eyebrow pencil. It is the best ever!

The Best Eye Makeup Remover Of All Time
I shared my favorite eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners and mascara, but I must admit my Lancome eye makeup remover is my favorite product of all. I won’t wear makeup if I don’t have this amazing product. I have tried coconut oil, and every other product to remove makeup from my sensitive eyes, but nothing and I mean nothing works as well as the Lancome BiFacil eyemakeup remover. Not only does it remove makeup well, it’s very soothing! I have used it since I was a teenager, and can’t get enough of it. I’ve linked up to it below!

My Favorite Moisturizer For Dry, Sensitive Skin
Finding the perfect moisturizer for my dry, sensitive skin that is acne prone has been a struggle to say the least. If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable because your face is breaking out or it’s so dry it’s flaking (or both) you’ll know what I mean when I say I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. My skin is so sensitive to scents and various ingredients, it’s ridiculous. It lets me know ASAP if it doesn’t agree with a product I’m using with acne on my cheeks or along my jawline, neck.
During the last sale in November, I bought a small container of the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex moisturizer. It is said to work with every skin type from normal to oily, dry and sensitive. Since the small travel size was only $17, I decided to give it a try, but I didn’t have high hopes…I know better than to do so!
OMG my skin loves this moisturizer. My skin has stopped flaking, I haven’t broken out in months. My face feels so hydrated! Apparently, my skin loves the brand Fresh. In one of my orders I received a sample of a Fresh mask, and tried that as well. I’ve never had luck with masks, they tend to irritate my skin, but it works so well! I’m obsessed with Fresh brand and can’t get enough of it. In fact, they have a few products that are made by monks in a monastery. They’re much pricier than this moisturizer, but since they’re 15% off, I’m going to give them a try. I’ve been searching for a new eye cream, and will definitely report back if it works.

Favorite Foundation, Contour Palette, Highlighter, Bronzer
If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, you know how important it is to not only have a great moisturizer, but use amazing makeup products as well. In 2016, I was searching for a great foundation that would not only provide amazing coverage, but didn’t feel heavy. I had read about Giorgio Armani’s amazing foundation and decided to give it a try! I’m so glad I did. The hype is real, this really is the BEST foundation and totally worth the price. It covered my acne during that stressful time, and made me feel much better about my appearance.
I bought the original Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette when it came out years ago and absolutely love it. Since my skin is on the dry side, I decided to give her cream contour palette a try, and love it even more! It glides right on. I use it with my tarte contour brush, and BeautyBlender.
I’m a huge fan of Jessie James Decker, especially her makeup tutorials. I don’t know if it was on YouTube or on Instagram, but she mentioned that she uses the Becca highlighter, so decided to give it a try. As I mentioned above, I don’t have high hopes when I try new beauty products because 9 times out of 10, they won’t work because my skin is way too sensitive. Thankfully my skin didn’t react to it at all! My skin loves it, and it provides the right amount of glow. The Becca eye brightener is great too! I don’t like wearing concealer, and this eye brightener definitely makes me feel more confident. PS: I will share a few Becca products that I adore in the Shop The Post widget here and at the bottom of this post.
In November during the last Sephora VIB Rouge sale I decided to splurge on the Tom Ford bronzing powder everyone has been talking about! It is amazing. This bronzer is the perfect consistency, color and it feels amazing on. The color is natural looking and will definitely make you look like you went on vacation somewhere warm! It’s sensitive skin approved too!

Save Money On BeautyBlender and Tarte Makeup Brushes
You can have the most amazing and luxurious makeup products in the world, but unless you have a great makeup brush or BeautyBlender to apply it or blend it, you’ve totally defeated the purpose. I love my BeautyBlender sponges. I’d heard in the past that it’s not a good idea to use a sponge when applying makeup if you have acne because it can make it worse. Honestly, I have never had a problem at all. In fact, applying my foundation with a sponge is less irritating than applying it with a brush. Don’t get me wrong I use brushes when I contour my face or apply bronzer, but I find the BeautyBlender best for foundation!
When it comes to makeup brushes, I can’t get enough of Tarte. I bought a Tarte contour kit many years ago, and still have the contour brush. It is phenomenal. During the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale in November I bought Tarte brushes for applying my eyeshadow, blending it, etc. and absolutely love this set. I use at least one of the brushes every single day! While that brush kit is no longer available, I was able to find a few that I think you’ll love!

Must Have Lipsticks, Lip Glosses On Deep Discount
We ladies love shopping for lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip balms don’t we? There are so many to choose from, it’s easy to get overwhelmed! You can find lip products by Dior, YSL, Lancome, Tom Ford and more on major discount during the spring 2018 Sephora VIB Rouge Sale.
When it comes to lip plumpers, I can’t get enough of Too Faced Lip Injection. It does tingle a bit at first, but it gives amazing results! I’ve linked up to a few must have lip products, and I will definitely be adding to the collection! I love trying new lipsticks and glosses just in time for summer!

8 Best Hair Products And Hair Tools For Thick Hair
If you have thick, coarse hair that tends to frizz, you know how hard it is to find hair products that will moisturize your hair and make it feel soft. It’s also difficult to find hair tools that will actually get hot enough to flat iron or curl your hair. Two years ago I finally found the perfect shampoo, conditioner, and various hair products and haven’t looked back since! Over the last year and a half, I found the perfect curling wands and flat iron, and can’t wait to share them with you. I’m beyond obsessed!
DryBar Sake Bomb Shampoo: I started using this in 2016 and have been hooked ever since. It’s incredibly nourishing and the best shampoo I’ve ever used!
DryBar Mudslide Mask: This is my favorite hair product of all. I don’t know what I would do without it. I freaked out a few months ago when I noticed that this product was no longer available in stores, I thought it had been discontinued and I was going to go back to having bad hair. Thankfully, I was wrong. They were just repackaging it. It now comes in a tube and is a few dollars cheaper than the original. This mask is incredibly moisturizing! I don’t know what I would do without it. My hair used to frizz out and get incredibly large if I didn’t do anything to it after I washed it. Now I’m not embarrassed if I don’t blow dry it, flat iron it or curl it, it looks totally fine if I just let it air dry and don’t touch it. This product is remarkable and 15% off at the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale!
DryBar Velvet Hammer: This product is made for those of us with thick, coarse hair. I tend to use this product more during the chilly winter months when my hair tends to be drier. It’s really great! It softens my hair and makes it easier to curl. PS: Last summer when my hair was long, I shared a tutorial on how I use this product and curl my thick hair.
DryBar Hot Toddy: This is the hair product I use before I dry my hair! I never used to blow dry it, but my T3 Proi hairdryer (that sadly is no longer available) dries it in a few minutes and never damages it. I love this hair product!
DryBar Chaser Cream: I use the Chaser shine cream to provide shine after I curl my hair! My hair tends to frizz, especially since it’s been so chilly this spring. I only use it once after I curl it and I’m set until I wash it again! A little goes a long way and it lasts for days.

After I apply the DryBar Hot Toddy heat protectant, I use my T3 Proi blowdryer. I know there are other great blowdryers on the market, but since I don’t have any experience using them, I don’t feel confident talking about them! I would hate to sway you, especially since I know how hard it is to find hair tools that will make thick hair more manageable!
Today, I’m excited to tell you about my favorite curling wands and flat irons. I have never walked into a DryBar salon, but I have used their products over the years and they have changed the look and feel of my hair. Over the last two years I’ve actually learned to love my hair, thanks to this amazing brand! It’s now easy to care for, and I don’t dread having to do it. It’s all about having the right products and hair tools!
T3 Trio Curling Wand: When my hair was really long, I used this T3 Trio Curling Wand quite a bit. Many fashion bloggers use the 1″ wand, but I felt really confident using the larger one. It give me the glam curls we all crave!
DryBar Curling Wand: I seriously love the DryBar The Wrap Party Styling Wand. I cut my hair up to my shoulders in August and was looking for a wand that was smaller than the larger barrel I used on my T3. When I found out that DryBar was coming out with a new wand, I knew I had to try it. It’s a reverse barrel and really easy to use. The curls are great, especially for wavy lobs!
DryBar Flat Iron: My blowdryer straightens my hair pretty well, but I still usually have to flat iron a few pieces here and there. This DryBar The Tress Press Digital Styling Iron gets up to 450 degrees and is amazing. Did I also mention that I started using it as a curling wand? My friend, renowned beauty expert Grace Gold mentioned that she uses her flat iron to curl her hair recently, so I decided to use my DryBar flat iron as a curling wand. It works so well and the curls last for days. The curls are much more natural.
I used to use a different flat iron to curl my hair when I had a keratin treatment many years ago, but once my hair grew out, it no longer worked. Honestly, the DryBar hair products I use makes my hair feel like I have a keratin treatment without the damage! I really think the combination of great hair products and amazing tools is key.
