Happy Independence Day! I hope you and your family are having a very happy, fun and safe 4th of July. One important thing to remember today and throughout the summer is to apply your sunscreen. We all know how the sun can wreak havoc on our skin and raise our risk for skin cancer, so we must do everything we can to prevent damage and to lower our risk for the disease.

As an Aveeno ambassador, I’m fortunate to get to try new skincare products from time to time, but there are two products I rely on during the summer months (and throughout the year!) and those are the Aveeno Active Naturals Protect + Hydrate Broad Spectrum Lotion SPF 50 and the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion. You want to protect your skin and keep it hydrated with this fantastic lotion that’s safe enough for sensitive skin.

Aveeno was kind enough to surprise me with an adorable summer-isnpired straw tote, a fun Sunnylife Australia Beach Sounds speakers/radio in blue, the trendy Vagabond round beach towel I’ve been obsessed with for months, BandAid waterproof bandaids, my trusty Aveeno Active Naturals Protect + Hydrate Broad Spectrum Lotion SPF 50 and the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion on Friday, just in time for the 4th of July! If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you may have noticed my posts on the products, and today I thought I’d share a few pictures on the blog as I love them so much. They’re perfect for relaxing on the weekend, beach getaways, and summer vacations – hopefully to Lake Tahoe!
Please be safe in the sun this 4th of July weekend (and this summer!) wear your sunscreen, moisturize, and don’t forget to tag @AveenoUS on Instagram with the hashtag #summerskin. Aveeno is an awesome brand that’s been trusted by families for years (especially mine!) and they love seeing your posts (so do I!). 🙂 For more information on everything Aveeno, please visit their website at Aveeno.com.
PS: This was such a fun 4th of July inspired DIY project my mom and I worked on last night! We used her three tier plant stand as a prop, placed a vintage glass flower frog at the top and stuck small American flags in it. In the second tier we placed white dahlias in old Starbucks Frappuccino bottles and the third tier we used red garden roses in the Starbucks bottles as well. All of the fresh flowers are from our flower farm (if you’re near Sacramento, please come check us out!). I love how this turned out! We’re going to a friend’s 4th of July party today and we’ll take the flowers over to her house in a vintage inspired red and white Coca Cola wooden crate so others can enjoy them as well.

Here’s the scoop on the products featured in this post, and similar vintage items I featured above! 🙂
