My skin and I have had a love-hate relationship for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I hated my freckles. When I was a teenager my freckles were replaced with acne, and I was left wondering why I ever complained so much about my freckles in the first place? I started seeing a dermatologist in college who prescribed antibiotics, birth control pills, and steroid cream. Sadly nothing really helped. It wasn’t until I started doing research I came to the conclusion that I don’t have acne, after all, I have dry sensitive skin.

Over the years I searched high and low for a great moisturizer for my dry sensitive skin, but could never find one. I used a variety of skincare products from drugstore to high-end luxury moisturizers and nothing helped. I had read amazing reviews about Fresh Beauty so I decided to give them a try during the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale in November. They have a travel size moisturizer for only $17, which seemed great! If it didn’t work, it wouldn’t go to waste.

This moisturizer has changed my life forever! For the first time since I was a kid, my skin feels moisturized, hydrated and soft. This is actually the first container of moisturizer I have ever finished! I usually just throw them out or give them to my mom to use if I don’t like them. She is lucky and doesn’t have problems with her skin, so she can use anything.

I have wanted to share 3 of my favorite moisturizers in addition to my favorite cleanser in the hopes my review of these amazing products can help anyone else who is struggling with dry sensitive skin issues. These four phenomenal skincare products have forever changed my life and I hope they will help you too! PS: These amazing skincare products are perfect for every skin type! I made sure and linked up to them in the post as well as the Shop The Post widget below!

My favorite cleanser for dry sensitive skin

I first heard about the healing powers of manuka honey when my grandmother was released from the hospital after breaking her femur in 2012. It is miraculous! A few years ago while shopping for a new cleanser, I stumbled on this amazing cleanser by Era Organics. It is a Cleanser + Restore Natural Facial and Body Cleanser which contains ingredients such as organic aloe vera and manuka honey. It is hypoallergenic, paraben free, sulfate free and fragrance-free. It is very inexpensive at just $18.87 with free shipping for the eight-ounce bottle or $13.87 for the four-ounce bottle. It is the most amazing cleanser I have ever used. It doesn’t strip my skin of moisture, and it hasn’t caused any breakouts. I use it every single day as a facial cleanser and as a body wash.

Era Organics Cleanse + Restore Face and Body Wash, Creme Ancienne Eye Cream, Creme Ancienne Face Cream and Fresh Beauty Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream are Candie Anderson's favorite skincare products for dry sensitive skin that is acne-prone.

The BEST Eye Cream For Dry, Sensitive Skin

After using the Fresh Beauty Moisturizer for a few months I started doing research to see if Fresh Beauty has an eye cream. I had such bad luck with moisturizers over the years, but nothing compared to how long and hard I had battled trying to find the perfect eye cream. Every eye cream I had ever used had irritated my skin. During the spring Sephora VIB Rouge Sale I decided to try the Creme Ancienne eye cream (Creme Ancienne is Fresh Beauty’s luxury line). It was expensive but felt I had nothing to lose. The thing I love the most about shopping at Sephora is if I find a product irritates my skin, I can return it.

When I first tried this eye cream I didn’t like it and was going to send it back. It didn’t feel like it suited my skin at all. Little did I know it was because I was applying it wrong. For about a week I applied my face cream first and then my eye cream. If I had read the directions I would have realized you are supposed to apply your eye cream first and then the face cream. Once I started applying it correctly it made a world of difference!

I have now used this eye cream every night for the last four months with no problem! I absolutely adore it. It’s amazing! It is the only eye cream I have ever used which my skin has never reacted to. This eye cream is my lifeline. I’m so happy I took a chance! I can now say I have finally found an eye cream I can use with zero irritation. PS: I’m still on the same container! A little goes a long way.

The Best Night Cream I Have Ever Used

My mom has always been adamant about using a night cream. She says it’s a great preventative. Unfortunately, I could never find one that didn’t cause breakouts or make my face beet red. I searched high and low until I found out Fresh Beauty’s luxury line, Creme Ancienne (which is made in a monastery by monks) “was inspired by the world’s first cream” is healing and perfect for dry sensitive skin.

Creme Ancienne is more expensive than the regular Fresh line. As I mentioned above, I bought it first at the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale, and once I went through an entire container without any breakouts, I knew I had finally found a face cream that was phenomenal. I have gone through one and a half containers without issue! I am head over heels in love with it.

Ever since I started using it, I started noticing a difference. Friends and family have told me that my skin looks soft and well moisturized. I am my own worst critic and can honestly say I will gladly splurge on my new skincare routine as I can definitely notice a difference in my skin.

I rarely ever use foundation or anything on my skin these days. If I’m going to post a picture on social media or going somewhere, I’ll use my Becca highlighter with a bit of Giorgio Armani foundation but that is it. I haven’t used my BeautyBlender or my foundation brush in quite some time either! I don’t feel like I have to pat in my foundation to cover any blemishes. It is great to finally find a product that works! Just yesterday a friend came over, I didn’t even put foundation on. I just put a bit of my Tom Ford bronzer and felt very confident in my own skin! This is a big step for me.

Sometimes I will use the Creme Ancienne face cream during the day as a mask. It’s no secret masks are all the rage these days but because my skin is so sensitive I haven’t found one that works. It’s been so hot and dry here in Northern California due to the fires, sometimes I like to pamper my skin a little bit. I don’t do this too often though because it is pricey!

My Holy Grail Moisturizer For Dry Sensitive Skin

Fresh Beauty’s amazing moisturizer “Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex” changed my life forever! It is hands down my favorite daytime moisturizer. I am so thankful I bought it, and use it on the daily. I tried using a luxury moisturizer that was supposedly great for sensitive skin, but it left my face dry and flaky. Thankfully this product never has. I use it every morning when I get up. As I mentioned above, I rarely wear makeup on my face – just eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara.

The smell is light which is great! Not only do I have sensitive skin, but I’m very sensitive to fragrances. I tend to get migraines if the smell is too strong! This one is not strong at all.

It is available in a 15 mL size for $17, and $45 for the 50 mL.

PS: I should also mention that I used to have cystic-like acne along my neckline and had no idea how to get rid of it. A few years ago I was talking to my grandmother’s nurse about my skin and she told me to stop using dryer sheets. Little did I know all along that was the cause of the acne on my neck. I now only use a detergent that is fragrance-free and meant for sensitive skin and no longer use dryer sheets. This change has also made a world of difference!
