The Top Out Of The Box Bridal Trends

Candie Anderson: How are out of the box shapes influencing bridal trends?

Amy Shey Jacobs: “Well, fancy shapes are everywhere in weddings and we have them here today. Some of them are ovals, hearts. Hexagons are everywhere and that is really taking the style choice from your table linens to your fashion and even your engagement ring. We’re seeing fancy shapes everywhere.”

Kristen Trustey: “These fun shapes are starting with the proposal and the choice of fancy shape diamonds. More than 60% of brides are choosing a fancy shape diamond that’s any shape other than round.

We have the Forevermark Black Label Collection, it’s a collection of exquisite cuts – cushion, oval, square and heart shapes. These are optimized for light performance. They sparkle more than any other diamond.”

How Couples Are Being Socially Conscious At Their Weddings

Candie Anderson: I hear couples are choosing to be more socially conscious at their wedding. Can you tell us about that?

Amy Shey Jacobs: “The same thing carry suit. People are looking for ways to infuse their weddings with their everyday lifestyles. Weddings are no exception when it comes to socially responsible.

What we’re seeing is everything from plants and flowers being donated after the wedding, registering for gifts at charitable gift registries, having plantable paper – really looking to make wise decisions that feel really good and that starts with your diamonds and your fashion as well.”

Kristen Trustey: “It starts from the very beginning when choosing the perfect diamond engagement ring and thinking about where that diamond comes from. All of these diamonds from Forevermark are responsibly sourced from places like Botswana, Canada, Namibia and South Africa.

The diamonds as part of the De Beers Group actually help to give back to the communities they come from with good quality health care, education, and career opportunities.”

The Hottest Wedding Trends Of The Year

Candie Anderson: Luxury and glamour are two of the biggest trends in bridal fashion, jewelry and design. What are couples wearing and what elements are they incorporating into their big day?

Amy Shey Jacobs: “Luxury weddings are 100% a huge trend right now after a decade of being in the barn. Barn weddings aren’t going away, but they are getting fancier. What we are seeing across the board is the return to the ballroom wedding, the country club wedding. Making sophisticated choices in terms of upping the ante, tuxedos, gowns, lots of diamonds, lots of champagne.

It’s really all about capturing the essence, that dance on the tables kind of wedding. Super classic. Even the barn wedding we’re seeing chandeliers and tuxedos making an entree.”

Kristin Trustey: “What that formal wedding means in terms of jewelry, is the best of the best when it comes to diamonds. Less than 1% of the world’s diamonds can be Forevermark. The exceptional diamond collection is really the pinnacle of that. These diamonds are exceptional in their size – they’re three carats and above. Also, there are other distinguishing exceptional qualities for maximum sparkle on your big day.”

The Most Popular Colors For Weddings

Candie Anderson: I just have to ask – is blush pink still the hottest color for weddings?

Amy Shey Jacobs: “Absolutely. Blush pink is definitely a color that is here to stay. We have some beautiful blush pink blooms in the studio. But color itself is making a comeback too. I’m seeing rich purples, and deep sapphire blues, even reds, and oranges. Turmeric is a really hot color for this fall too. Don’t be afraid to play with color, but blush, you cannot go wrong with blush.”
