Valentine’s Day Bar Cart Filled With Desserts and Flowers!

Candie Anderson shares tips on how she decorated her Valentine's Day bar cart with desserts just in time for Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

When people think of Valentine’s Day, they tend to think about relationships. I, on the other hand, think of my health and I’m eternally grateful! When I was a college student I found a few cysts on my neck shortly before hearts day. The only doctor’s appointment available was on Valentine’s Day. I can’t tell you how scared I was. All I remember was my heart was racing, my blood pressure was sky high and I was shaking. Thankfully, everything turned out okay. In honor of that day, and every day since, I “go all out” when decorating for February 14th. I decorate the yard and inside the house like you wouldn’t believe! Now that I have my bar cart, I love to create my annual “Valentine’s Day bar cart.”

It’s no secret that bar carts are incredibly popular! I bought mine around this in early 2017, and I’m obsessed. It was on my wish list for years, and scooped it up when it was on sale. Ever since I bought it, I’ve decorated it for Valentine’s Day (2017), Easter, summer, the holidays and the Super Bowl! This year, I purchased a new heart garland, three tier rack and a few other decor items in honor of hearts day.

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is only a few short days away? If you’re looking for a few tips and tricks on how to decorate your bar cart, you’re in luck. Today, I’m sharing a few of of my favorite bar carts, and Valentine’s Day decorations! PS: You’ll definitely want to check out my Valentine’s Day banners post. There are so many cute ones to choose from. Many are available next day delivery!

How I Decorated My Valentine’s Day Bar Cart And My Favorite Last Minute Hearts Day Decorations

I love everything about this bar cart, especially the burlap heart glitter garland, the agate tray, Yay champagne flute, the cotton candy punch essentials and this pretty amaryllis that my mom planted.

My Yorkie, Francesca was having a fit because I wouldn’t share the sugar cookies! These are a few of my favorite pictures. She was telling me off so much during this “photo shoot.” She is something else!

My mom loves baking! This week I bought her some fondant from Amazon and she made these cute heart shaped Valentine sugar cookies! I love the fun and festive emoji icing decoration candies she put on top of some of them. Next year I hope to decorate my Super Bowl bar cart early, so I have enough time to make more desserts for Valentine’s Day. Hopefully next year, I will perfect baking macarons! One can hope 😉

This winter is historic! We never have anything in bloom on our RoseCandi flower farm this early, so I typically buy any flower that’s in bloom at the grocery store. This week the only thing available were these pretty light pink carnations, which I planned on including on the bar cart all along. Yesterday, when my mom and I were deadheading the roses for winter, we noticed that we actually had roses in bloom! They’re never in bloom this early, ever! The weather has been in the 70s all month (with the exception of today, we’re getting a lot of wind). Last year we were dealing with historic floods, this year we broke records with warm weather! Since this may not happen again in February, I made sure and cut the roses and included them in this bouquet. They made my 2018 Valentine’s Day bar cart even more special!

My favorite bar cart

I bought this Dessau Home antique gold bamboo tea cart in 2017. You may remember I did an entire blog post in 2014 on chic bar carts? (It also goes by the name Constantine at a different retailer) I fell in love with it immediately! At that time I was focused on paying off student loans, so it wasn’t in my budget. I impatiently waited a few years, and it was well worth the wait. It’s the most gorgeous budget-friendly bar cart I’ve ever seen.

Another thing I love about it is how easy it is to put together! I am not “handy” at all, and I was able to assemble it on my own. In fact, I gained so much confidence putting it together, I bought another non-assembled piece of furniture thinking I’d have the same result. Unfortunately, no such luck! It’s just so well made, especially for the price.

The glass shelves are an added bonus. It is so chic, trendy and is sure to last a lifetime! Faux bamboo is always on trend. This is one classic piece I am thankful I own. I can’t wait to accessorize it for St. Patrick’s Day, and dress it up with fresh garden roses from my flower farm this spring! You will be certain that I will share all the details here and on Instagram. PS: This bar cart is currently on sale + an extra 10% off for Presidents Day with coupon code: PREZ10. You’ll also see the bar cart I decorated for Christmas on their website!

Obsessed with this Pottery Barn Kids three tier heart tray!

I bought this cute red “Pottery Barn Kids hearts centerpiece” about a month ago! I paid full-price for it then, but it’s currently deeply discounted at $22 with free shipping. As someone who loves heart detailing, I think it would be perfect for bridal showers, baby showers, and any other celebration you have planned. My mom made adorable Valentine’s Day cupcakes with heart fondant and heart shaped sugar cookies for the tray. I placed the cupcakes at the top (so my dog, Fred) didn’t steal them! In the second and third tiers I placed the sugar cookies with delicious fondant and fun emoji candies. On the Pottery Barn Kids website they showed it filled with Valentine’s Day cards and presents. There are so many different options! You can totally accessorize it any way you’d like. PS: You’ll love the Pottery Barn Kids Valentine’s Day post I shared recently. There are so many cute decor items that are currently deeply discounted! The Pottery Barn Kids friends and family sale is happening right now, you don’t want to miss that either.
