Tonight marks the season finale of Naomi Campbell’s hit modeling reality show “The Face” which also show stars supermodels Karolina Kurkova and fashion “it” girl Coco Rocha as mentors, and is hosted by Nigel Barker. For seven weeks the models have completed challenges, and faced possible elimination for the chance to be the face of ULTA Beauty. On Tuesday, March 19th’s episode, model Jocelyn Chew was eliminated; she was kind enough to join me for a short interview to talk about her experience on “The Face”, whether or not she would do the show again, and what’s next for her.
Candace Rose: Jocelyn, Can you tell us about your experience on “The Face”?
Jocelyn Chew: “I would say that my experience on the show doing a reality show I’m glad I did it. But I don’t think I would ever do it again now knowing everything that goes on behind it.
I think that it was a good experience, and I am glad that I did it. And I learned so much from mainly Naomi Campbell being my mentor, but everybody on set. And I appreciate the time.”
Candace Rose: How has the show helped you grow?
Jocelyn Chew: “It helped me grow by definitely getting a little bit of a thicker skin, but also just it’s helped me with my walk and just every – just everything that Naomi has taught me I’ve definitely listened to. And I’m going to use it throughout my career.”
Candace Rose: What’s next for you?
Jocelyn Chew: “What’s next for me? Well I was modeling prior to this show as a full time career. And right now I’m actually on an airplane to LA from New York. I’m going to LA to work. So I just signed with One Model Management in New York. So I’m based out of New York right now working there.”
Don’t forget to tune into “The Face” tonight at 9/8c on Oxygen.
