The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is quickly approaching! I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is two weeks away. Where has 2018 gone? It’s still in the 70s/80s here in Northern California. We haven’t had any rain, while I know we need it desperately, I’m going to enjoy it as much as possible before the stress of the holiday season quickly takes over!
Speaking of the holidays. How do you relieve stress during the busy November and December months? Do you find that you pile more on your plate or do you take time to enjoy the simple things? This week I was joined by renowned lifestyle expert, Lance Smith to chat about how to relieve stress and spoil ourselves this holiday season! Please be sure to watch the video below for more details. I made sure and transcribed the interview for you as well.

Lifestyle expert, Lance Smith joined Candace Rose Anderson for an interview recently to share simple ways you can avoid stress this holiday season and overindulge. PS: Be sure to watch the interview to see why he did the interview on a new mattress!
How To Spoil Yourself This Holiday Season
Candie Anderson: Is it ever okay to ever go overboard during the holidays?
Lance Smith: “It’s always okay to go overboard for the holidays. You go overboard on your children, you go overboard on everybody else and what you do for them and what you buy for them. You have to go overboard for yourself a little bit. Indulge. Spoil yourself. Rest. Take an extra serving of your favorite holiday dish, it is important.”
Simple Ways You Can Spoil Yourself This Holiday Season
Candie Anderson: What are some great ways we can spoil ourselves this holiday season?
Lance Smith: “Basically this holiday season you’ve got a lot of stress coming your way. You’ve got to buy gifts for everybody. You may be traveling and people may be coming to your house. You have a high priority list of things you want to get done with your time off but don’t be overwhelmed.
First, I would say take your priority list and take two things off the list automatically. Just do them later. You know you can. Then look at your list and are you on that list? Is your rest on your list? Is your family on that list? That will ease your stress by just allowing yourself time to enjoy life and your family. I’m in a bed right now and I’m all about napping!”
How To Save Time Over The Holidays
Candie Anderson: It’s no secret the holidays can be very stressful (as you mentioned). What are some simple ways we can save time this holiday season so we don’t feel so stressed?
Lance Smith: “I mentioned the list. Split the thing in two – high priority, low priority. If you do take high priority things off your list, make sure you do this with your husband, your wife, your partner (you don’t want to get in trouble).
To me, the greatest thing you can do to avoid stress and save time and spend more time in bed like I’m doing right now is online shopping – your whole list. I don’t mean one or two items. Go online, do your entire list online. Everything is delivered to your door, meanwhile, you’re in bed binge-watching your favorite shows in possibly a brand new mattress. I can’t recommend that enough.”
How To Save On A New Mattress
Candie Anderson: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share with us?
Lance Smith: “Absolutely. Mattress Firm, they want you to indulge this year. Look you spend a third of your life sleeping on your mattress, right? Most likely on your mattress and not the couch! Maybe you’re not in trouble. Go to MattressFirm.com/Sale. There’s a great sale going on right now through December 4th. All brands on sale. You can get a king for the price of a queen, queen for the price of a twin and so on. I highly recommend getting a really nice high-end mattress for yourself. You wake up feeling better, you tackle the day better. Your kids are more appreciative that you’re a lot nicer.”
