Interior design expert, Kim Lewis is one of my favorite people to interview! She always shares the most amazing decor tips and design trends. Earlier this week, Kim joined me fresh off her trip from Bali to dish on the top interior design trends of 2017, especially the luxury zen trend. According to recent reports, people are spending more time in their home and with the rise of technology consumers want to create a place where they can disconnect. Kim featured an amazing new shower panel from Kohler that “actually recreates a real rain experience in your spa.”
There’s nothing quite as popular as marble these days. We’re seeing marble everywhere from kitchen and bathroom counters to side tables, even marble inspired iPhone cases (which I’m the proud owner of!). Marble is gorgeous to look at and makes a statement in any home, but unfortunately it isn’t quite as durable or as low maintenance as other materials, especially when used as a counter top or on shower walls. Thankfully there is a solution for those of us who love the look of marble, and that’s quartz! Quartz has become the material of choice in place of marble and granite because of its durability and ease of care. Kim Lewis showcased one of her favorite quartz counter tops from SileStone that will look fab in your bathroom.
We all want to be eco-friendly and conserve water, especially here in California. During the interview, Kim mentioned the importance of intelligent toilets, and easy to install water filtration systems.
