With the busy Memorial Day weekend travel season nearly upon us, now is the time to start prepping for that road trip to the beach, campsite on the first unofficial day of summer. AAA says 35% of Americans plan to take vacations farther than 50 miles away from home (this year), so it’s essential that your car is in tiptop shape not just for Memorial Day but for this busy summer travel season ahead. Lauren Fix, The Car Coach, joined me for an interview yesterday to share some great travel tips for those of us looking to take a road trip this season!
In the interview Lauren mentioned the hot devices and apps people are using while driving (and as passengers) such as navigational systems, smartphones, WAZE, hands-free clamps, tablets and video players. Since safety is the most important thing when traveling, she dished on what type of behavior puts drivers at risk and how to protect yourself on the road. Lauren also shared advice for drivers whose cars lack built-in navigational, high-quality audio and truly hands-free ways of communicating while driving.
