Are you looking to plan a great Super Bowl 50 party, but in need of some help? If so, you’re in luck! This weekend I’ve been featuring the top last minute Super Bowl party decor items for both Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos fans, and I’ve also got the scoop on great finger foods and snacks thanks to Hungry Fan, Daina Falk who was kind enough to join me for an interview this week to dish on some of her favorite appetizers and drinks just in time for kickoff!
Candace Rose: With the Super Bowl just a week away, how can we kickoff a great game day this year?
Daina Falk: As you said, the big game is just around the corner and I like to approach my game day party like I would a football game – a football game has four quarters, and my game day party is divided into four quarters.
The first quarter my friends are arriving, they’re hungry, they’re ready to chow down. I just don’t want to give them junk, so I’m offering up for the first quarter delicious salty snacks in the form of Wonderful Pistachios. They’re really delicious, but one of my favorite things about them is you can eat 49 pistachios and only consume about 160 calories, which is pretty awesome. They do come in a variety of great flavors. Some of my favorite flavors are salt and pepper, and sweet chili. You can find the full array online at GetCrackin.com.”
Second quarter, we’re now thirsty because we’ve had our salty snacks, I’ve got some great drink pairings to go with my pistachios – I’ve got a Chandy Gone Nuts which is a lemonade and beer cocktail with a little bit of muddled ginger that goes really well with a lightly salted flavor. I’ve got a Bloody Wasabi which is a take on a bloody Mary that goes really well with salt and pepper. (Please be sure to watch the video above for more details on the drinks)
You can find all of these great flavors on GetCrackin.com.”
Candace Rose: What are some great finger foods just in time for the big game?
Daina Falk: “Once halftime’s over, we’ve got the third quarter, we’re hungry. We want finger food, and for me game day and chicken wings are synonymous, so I’ve actually got some pistachio crusted chicken wings. They’re baked, they’re really delicious and I think they’re really sure to please all of your guests.
All I can say for the fourth quarter, my biggest tip of all – just because the game is almost done doesn’t mean you should run out of food or drinks. Be sure that you’ve got plenty of all of these leftover until the final second has ticked off the clock. As I say to everybody, may the best team win.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share with us?
Daina Falk: “As I said, just have a great time, make sure that you’ve got enough set out. You don’t want to run out of anything and do visit GetCrackin.com.”
