Are you throwing a Labor Day party with family and friends this weekend but are in need of some last minute DIY decor tips, food and game ideas? If so, you’re in luck! One of my favorite interviewees, DIY expert and Brit + Co founder Brit Morin stopped by the Today show this morning to share some fun DIY decor, games and food ideas just in time for the unofficial end of summer.
Brit Morin shared the secret to creating a fun DIY hot dog station (with cute signs) that will make it easier for your guests to decide what condiments they want to top their hot dog with. She created an adorable fresh watermelon grill (that she propped with celery and added blackberries as coals) and corn dog cookies (out of sugar cookies, peanut butter, frosting, piping bag and lollipop sticks) that are just perfect for that backyard barbecue!
If you are fellow Instagram user, you’ve noticed that pineapple floral vases are a hot trend! I actually made one earlier this summer and filled it with some of my favorite English roses from the garden. Brit said the pineapple vase trend is perfect for your last minute Labor Day party!
Brit Morin DIY’d a great “drink cooler” out of a planter box too! Don’t forget to check out her festive end of summer popsicle garland, and floating beverage cooler made out of pool noodles as well. Do you love outdoor games? Brit dished on the dominos, scrabble letters and ladder ball game she created! Be sure to watch the video below for details and head over to Today.com for great DIY tips!
