Can you believe it’s already back to school season for students of all ages across the country? We all know how stressful and time consuming back to school shopping can be, but it doesn’t have to be! Hollywood’s leading lifestyle and tech expert, Janna Robinson was kind enough to join me for an interview recently to dish on her must have back to school shopping gear and tech.
Candace Rose: What’s your go-to place for back-to-school shopping?
Janna Robinson: “Well, when you think about back to school, you think about school supplies and Office Depot and OfficeMax stores are my first stop. They have great style and savings and an exclusive collection called the DiVoga brand collection. It’s so cool – lots of fun colors, and everything from notebooks to folders to paperclips, pens.
Also, when you’re thinking about quality, you think about a backpack by Jansport (see video above for details) has plenty of storage and also it’s durable and sturdy enough to last throughout the entire school year. Of course with Office Depot there’s always great savings including 30% off all backpacks, so check out Office Depot and OfficeMax stores, and OfficeDepot.com/School.”
Candace Rose: Do you have a favorite convertible laptop for back-to-school?
Janna Robinson: “A must have laptop is one that literally bends over backwards like the HP Pavilion x360, and it’s really versatile. It transitions between four modes, so there’s notebook mode for work, stand for entertainment, tent for playing games and tablet of course for on-the-go. Kids will love it because it comes in vibrant new colors, it’s packed with HD or full HD touch display, and it’s built with Windows 10 in mind, so free upgrades are available.”
Candace Rose: Is there a great mobile home security system?
Janna Robinson: “Security is something that is on everybody’s mind, so the Nexia Home Intelligence has a great product. It’s easy, secure and it’s an affordable way to make your home smarter and your life easier with an all-in-one app that controls everything. It not only controls but it automates everything from your lighting to your garage door to your window treatments. It’s really incredible, even your sprinklers. Then for security, parents will love this – the smart lock will text you when your kids get home from school and you can view HD footage right from your smartphone.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any recommendations for phone plans?
Janna Robinson: “Net10 Wireless has a phone plan that doesn’t break the bank. Its unlimited high speed data plan starting at $35 with no contract. There’s family plans for $75, and they also have a bring your own phone program so you can keep your phone, stay on your existing network, but still benefit from a savings of 40% or more on comparable plans.”
Candace Rose: What’s your favorite printing solution?
Janna Robinson: “Well, HP is going to change the way that we think about ink with their Instant Ink enabled service – it’s so cool. The HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One printer actually knows when you’re running low on ink. When that happens HP ships it straight to your front door, so it’s like having endless ink. It’s incredible, very affordable and get this – you can save up to 50% off your ink bill!”
Candace Rose: What’s a must-have for any emergencies that may pop up during the school year?
Janna Robinson: “Well, if you’re a parent, you’re always concerned about the well-being of your child whether they’re at school, at home or playing with friends, so this is the ultimate peace of mind, it’s called V.Alrt. It’s a discreet wearable button that when you press it, you can summon emergency help and it’s activated with Bluetooth to send text messages to three pre-selected contacts along with your GPS coordinates. You don’t have to worry about fumbling with your phone trying to dial a number or trying to unlock it, so it’s really fantastic. It’s $19.99 and there’s absolutely no monthly fees. It’s a pretty great deal! It’s fantastic for kids, for college students, people that like to exercise and even pregnant women.”
Candace Rose: Well, thank you for the great tips, Janna! Where can we go for more information?
Janna Robinson: “ThunkNews.com/MustHave.”
