It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to a close and back to school season is nearly officially here for parents and students of all ages. SuperMom and Emmy Award winning journalist Raina Seitel is an expert on everything back to school, and she was kind enough to join me once again, this time to dish on her top 6 must haves to ensure you’re back to school ready!
Candace Rose: Where should parents go for school supplies and gear this back to school season?
Raina Seitel: “I can’t believe we are saying it’s back to school, but it is, so I have all the products you are going to need for your to-do list.
First up, Office Depot and OfficeMax stores, they have a great selection, great savings, great styles. Right in front of me, we have the exclusive DiVoga Collections – Gold Struck and Metallic Pop are two of my favorites. Of course, when we think back to school, we can’t forget about the backpacks. They have a wide selection of backpacks, also, we are featuring the High Sierra Fatboy, it’s great, lots of storage, it’s really durable and it will last the entire year – 30% off on school backpacks right now at Office Depot and OfficeMax stores, and of course online at OfficeDepot.com/School.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any suggestions when it comes to footwear?
Raina Seitel: “Yes! We want our kids to feel comfortable in their footwear and look cute at the same time, so definitely head to Kids Foot Locker for lots of choices from Adidas, Jordan, Nike – you name it, they have it. Today, we are looking at the Nike Roshe One in cool grey (please see video above for details). They also come in black and white. Check these styles out and more at KidsFootLocker.com or in stores as well.”
Candace Rose: What do you recommend for children who need glasses?
Raina Seitel: “I always say definitely go to the pediatrician, but don’t forget about the eye doctor. Get your kids eyes checked, and if in fact they do need glasses, you want to invest in good lenses. Crizal for Kids lenses are just that. They are terrific, they are scratch, glare and smudge resistant so your children are reading well, learning well, seeing well – it all matters. You can check these out at Crizal.com and of course at your eye care professional as well.”
Candace Rose: Is there anything new from Intel?
Raina Seitel: “Yes, technology is always king no matter what the season, and today we are featuring the Intel-powered ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi 2 in 1. It is such a good device! You can use it as a PC in class or a tablet on the go. It has a detachable keyboard which gives it great flexibility, and of course Intel is known for the fast processing speed thanks to the Intel Core M processor which this has, it has eight hours of battery life, so you definitely want to check that out.”
Candace Rose: How can we all stay ahead of the weather?
Raina Seitel: “Well, I don’t know about you, but last year I was without an umbrella one too many times, and this year I will be good to go thanks to the AccuWeather universal app for iOS and Android phones. They have a MinuteCast feature which is a minute to minute precipitation forecast for your exact street or your exact GPS location for up to two hours – I think that’s so cool. It is free, so you can download it. You can plan your day with superior accuracy, no more excuses from me. You can check that out at AccuWeather.com.”
Candace Rose: What’s the latest clothing trend for school?
Raina Seitel: “Well, denim has been big and it’s still big! I love denim. Check out Kohl’s for all of your denim needs. It is a denim destination, and they have so many options from a high waisted jean to a skinny to a bootcut to a distressed – lots of different brands like Jennifer Lopez, LC Lauren Conrad, Juicy Couture and so much more. You will find all of that at Kohl’s.”
Candace Rose: Well, thank you, Raina. Where can we go for more information?
Raina Seitel: “You can go to ThunkNews.com/Ready.”
