It’s been really tough to get sleep around here lately! My grandmother’s Alzheimer’s is getting worse, she’s been hallucinating quite a bit both day and night, and while I wish I had the energy to complete many of the tasks I have on my list these days outside of work, it’s been a problem to do so.
As many of you know, I’m a proud Aveeno Ambassador. I’ve been a brand ambassador since 2014, and Aveeno is absolutely the best! Not only do I get to try amazing new beauty products, but they’re also mind readers. Yesterday they surprised me with the phenomenal Aveeno Ultra-Calming Nourishing Night Cream, a beautiful West Elm gold lacquered tray, gorgeous candle holders, a stunning tea cup, Tazo Calm Chamomile tea to help me relax at night, and a Philips Wake-Up light to help me get a good night’s sleep.
I had a chance to try the Aveeno Ultra-Calming Nourishing Night Cream last night and I love it! It has Active Naturals Calming Feverfew which instantly soothes red and irritated dry skin, Active Naturals Nourishing Oat which deeply nourishes and strengthens skin too. My sensitive skin feels moisturized, calm and refreshed. It’s dermatologist tested, oil and fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. It’s absolutely perfect for those of us with sensitive skin that reacts to everything!
I also tried the Tazo Calm Chamomile tea last night which I’m also in love with. I had a good night’s sleep for the first time in a while. I did get up with my grandma a few times last night, but shockingly I was able to fall asleep almost immediately when I went back to bed. I woke up feeling refreshed this morning and I’ve gotten three blog posts posted today in addition to the one I’m writing right now – score! Another plus? I didn’t get a migraine, which has been pretty common lately due to not being able to sleep the entire night. I’m wondering if I can drink this tea all day? 😉
I can’t tell you how excited I am to try the Philips Wake-Up light tonight. I set it all up today, which wasn’t hard to do (all I did was plug it in, I set the time and the alarm). Have you had a chance to try it? I’ll definitely have to do a review once I try it out for a week or so. Don’t forget to Keep Calm with Aveeno On #keepcalmwithaveenoon
If you’ve been struggling to get a good night’s sleep or suffer from sensitive skin, you’re in luck! One of my favorite interviewees, renowned dermatologist Jeannine Downie, M.D. shared her essential nighttime tips.
1) Power through the wash. No matter how tired you are before bed, use a gentle cleanser to wash away the makeup and debris that accumulate during the day.
2) Get Calm. Moisturize your face and neck with a quality night cream like new AVEENO Ultra-Calming Nourishing Night Cream. It contains ACTIVE NATURALS feverfew and oats to reduce the appearance of red, dry skin.
3) Sleep well. Try to get 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep at night to give your skin time to fully restore itself.
Disclaimer: I’m an Aveeno brand ambassador and received these products for free. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated in any way for my review.
