I’ve been running low on energy lately the last few months. I blame it on stress, I’m not only a full-time freelance writer/blogger, but a full-time caregiver for my elderly grandmother suffering with Alzheimer’s as well. It’s a horrible disease which has us up at various hours throughout the night. Unfortunately at times it feels as though you just can’t catch up on sleep, no matter how hard you try. I’ve been craving fatty food, chocolate, etc. It hasn’t been good to say the least! About three weeks ago I was randomly approached by Urban Remedy about reviewing one of their cleanses/wellness kits, and since they claimed I could get more energy, I jumped at the chance!
I spoke with someone from Urban Remedy, told them my situation and they recommended I try the Urban Remedy Metabolism Kit. The kit arrived on Friday August 15th mid-morning, and I started the kit on Saturday morning. I was very excited to try the Wellness Kit, but I must admit I was terribly nervous about it! As someone who had just eaten an In n Out grilled cheese, with cheese fries, and a neapolitan shake just a day and a half beforehand, I thought I was willing and ready for the three day challenge, but never anticipated the strong cravings I would experience during lunch!
That morning I started the Urban Remedy Metabolism kit by drinking their delicious green berry juice and a diet spike. I have to admit, I’m not much of a breakfast person, I usually just make steel cut oats, add some yogurt, raw honey and fruit when I remember to, but it never provides energy quite like the green berry juice! It was delicious and I had tons of energy to get moving! It was such a nice surprise.
My mid-morning snack consisted of small no oatmeal cookies and tea. The small no oatmeal cookies are my absolute favorite! As someone who loves sweets, I really enjoyed these cookies. 🙂
For lunch I ate raw zucchini pasta with sun dried marinara sauce. It was delicious. I made sure and covered my pasta really well with the marinara sauce, as it helped curb my strong pizza cravings I was experiencing. As the dayswent on, the cravings stopped – thank goodness! I also drank a Time Machine with a diet spike. If you love cayenne pepper, you’ll adore this drink!
I was provided an apple, tea and diet spike for a mid afternoon snack…and I really enjoyed it! I love apples, so this was a great treat.
For dinner I ate raw zucchini pasta with pesto (I opted out of the spring rolls and zen salad) and drank a Glow. I love zucchini, and although I’d love to try the spring rolls and salad, I’m glad I had a chance to try raw zucchini. I was scared to take the challenge, and eating “comfort food” really helped ease my fears of being without junk food for three days.
I wrapped the Urban Remedy Metabolism Kit “challenge” on Monday August 18th, and I must say my energy level went up and I felt good during the cleanse. I would welcome the “challenge” again, and I’m looking to add Green Berry juice to my mornings and the small no oatmeal cookies to my snack routine! I’ve already started eating an apple in the afternoon instead of a small bag of chips, and drinking more herbal tea! All in all, I’m very glad I did it. I’ve gradually started changing my eating habits and I’m even starting to drink more water throughout the day.
