On tonight’s episode of NBC Fashion Star season 2 episode 3 “Something for Everyone”, Fashion Star host Louise Roe stated that this week’s design challenge was “to create a fashionable look for all shapes and sizes.”
Renowned designer John Varvatos started the show off with four designers, Jessica Simpson with three and Nicole with three as well.
Billion dollar celebrity designer Jessica Simpson really felt the pressure to do well, having lost designer Tori last week. The mentees/designers also felt pressure, especially menswear designer David who had yet to sell a piece.
John Varvatos felt once again he was the team to beat, and he was right. Every single one of his designers pieces were bought tonight by either Macy’s, Saks or Express. Unfortunately Nicole Richie’s team did not fare well tonight, as none of her designers were bought. When Louise Roe asked her how she felt after her designers pieces went down the runway, she stated she “was surprised.” Shockingly stand out young designer, Daniel who has designed for Jennifer Hudson and done extremely well in the competition was not bought either.
In the end, four designers (Daniel, Johana, Priscilla and David) were not bought, and called back up to the stage. It was no surprise that Daniel was sent back, he’s been one of the favorites and designers to beat since the show started three weeks ago.
When Nicole Richie was asked who would be up for elimination, she stated “We’re actually at a stalemate. Unfortunately we can’t make a decision, so all three of you (Priscilla, David and Johana) are up for elimination tonight. When it came down to it, Erika De Salvatore voted for Priscilla to be eliminated, Terron E. Schaeffer of Saks Fifth Avenue voted for David Appel, and Caprice Willard had the difficult task of telling David Appel that he would not be this season’s Fashion Star.
