Every year I make New Year’s resolutions I intend to keep, and more often than not I tend to break them. One of the best resolutions I made last year was to finally buy a planner and get organized, and I’m proud to say that this was one resolution I didn’t break, and became quite a lifesaver! This year I intend on making more resolutions, some difficult ones and some that are easy and won’t break the bank, such as staying as healthy as possible and looking my best without breaking the bank. Lifestyle and beauty expert Rebekah George joined me recently to share her favorite tips and product must haves for staying healthy, and looking and feeling your best in the New Year, which according to my watch is in just four days and a few hours! But who’s counting? 😉
Candace Rose: With the New Year nearly upon us, many of us will be setting resolutions, especially to get healthy. What advice do you have for those looking to make health a priority in 2013?
Rebekah George: “Well, take control, definitely is number one. The moment you feel like you’re getting sick or under the weather, I always suggest to reach for Cold-EEZE. It’s a product that prevents your cold from taking you full swing because it actually helps to reduce the life of your cold by nearly half. It works by releasing zinc ions into your upper respiratory system and that’s what prevents the cold virus from replicating. I love it too, Candace because it has everything you need from an oral spray or if you want to take a quick, melt or a lozenge. I love the quick melts because they get to work so quickly and also because they have PM version so you can get your beauty sleep because I love my beauty sleep.
And then also take control with your mouth too. Nothing beats a healthy bright smile and just having healthy gums. You can do that with the right mouth rinse. Crest Pro-Health Clinical Rinse is fantastic because it helps to prevent plaque and prevent it from possibly coming back. And also, it helps to reduce the appearance of gingivitis in as little as two weeks so it’s such a simple way to have your smile look great and healthy.
Candace Rose: What can we do to look and feel our best on the outside as well?
Rebekah George: “Well, in 2013 I say take stock of the products you have in your makeup bag. Throw out anything that’s old or expired, and invest in some new stuff, and one product that every woman should have for 2013 is a makeup primer. It makes your makeup last longer, look better. And my favorite is from La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Daily anti-aging primer. It helps to keep your skin looking younger because it has light perfecting particles, and it also has that broad spectrum coverage because you have the SPF 50 that’s so important to do for 2013- take care of your skin. It’s a really great product, and you can find more information at LaRoche-Posay.us (it’s about $40).”
Candace Rose: Are there any other must haves we should know about?
Rebekah George: “Well, you really want to pay attention to your hair. Hair is definitely one of the most talked about things on everyone’s beauty regimen. And look for a product that has a great shampoo and conditioner, because that’s where beautiful hair starts is when you’re in the shower. I love Fekkai’s Advanced PrX Restoratives Collection because it contains keratin and silk. Those are ingredients that really nourish your hair, and it also smells fantastic- it has vanilla and caramel extracts so it has that delicious smell. I have to tell you, they have a hair mask and I’ve been using it a couple times a week, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my hair. It’s such a great line. You can check it out at Fekkai.com.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share with us?
