Videos: Watch Every Super Bowl XLVIII Commercial Aired!

Happy Monday after the Super Bowl! Was that a game or what? Congrats to all the Seattle Seahawk fans out there today. To my beloved fellow Cowboy’s fans…we still have a chance next year (I hope)! So did you catch any of the great Super Bowl commercials? My favorite commercial with the celebrity cameo has to be the Acura commercial with Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza (Jason Alexander) and my of course Newman!

And like so many of you, my favorite commercial overall has to do with Clydesdales and puppies, by none other than Anheuser-Busch. Last year I had the pleasure of interviewing Anheuser Busch’s GM Jeff Knapper and baby Clydesdale, Hope who was featured in one of the best Super Bowl commercials of all time! And not surprisingly at all, they seem to outdo themselves every year, as each commercial gets more and more touching, especially to those of us animal lovers.

What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial this year? If you missed out on seeing them, or would like to check out your favorite ad on repeat, you’ve definitely come to the right place! Please feel free to check out this fabulous widget below which contains all the commercials/ads which aired during Super Bowl XLVIII between the Seattle Seahawks and Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos.

Shakira on her duet with Rihanna…

“[W]orking with her was utopia. She’s the sexiest woman on the planet. And at the end of the day, we’re both just basically Caribbean girls. The chemistry was so good and so real. She taught me dance moves. She was a sweet teacher.”

Shakira on working with fellow The Voice judge Adam Levine and other men in the industry…

“Dealing with boys at work and being the only girl can be challenging. I have my insecurities, but I’ve learned I have to be a good sport. I have to be able to take certain jokes and not take them personally. There are jokes made almost every second of the day. I had to develop a tough hide. You know, the music industry is dominated by guys. I work with men 98 percent of the time—producers, arrangers, musicians, engineers.”

Shakira on her success…

“Success happened little by little for me. I tasted the flavor of fame in small doses: I started at 10 years old when I won a music contest; I was performing at birthday parties, company meetings. I met with a record executive when I was 13 and sang ‘Material Girl’ to a cassette-tape boom box. I’ve shaken hands at every radio station, from Honduras to Ryan Seacrest’s. One day [I realized I was famous] enough. But here’s the thing: I’m still hungry. But I’m not hungry for fame—just the need to prove to myself that I can still do this.”

Shakira on her vision for her life…

“I feel like I’m not on earth just to shake it and shake it endlessly, you know?”

Shakira on whether she has gotten any grief from Latin fans about her blond hair or being too thin…

“At the beginning. But my man, Gerard, prefers meat over bone. He doesn’t like too skinny. [Laughs.] That takes pressure off. I already have a lot to worry about. This month I’m not exercising because I have an album to finish and I have a baby. And I like these pastries in front of me.”

Shakira on whether the injustice she saw growing up planted the seed for her education charity…

“Being raised in a developing country opened my eyes to so much I cannot tolerate. In Colombia, education is sometimes considered a luxury, not a human right. And it’s not a priority in the agendas of many leaders. I feel a real sense of duty to use the voice and the platform I’ve been afforded by my fame to speak out for those whose voices don’t get a chance to be heard. [The Barefoot Foundation] provides education to vulnerable kids who live in extreme poverty. We’ve built six schools in Colombia and do work in South Africa and Haiti. We teach 5,000 students.”

Don’t forget to catch Shakira on NBC’s “The Voice” on February 24th, and the cover of Glamour magazine on newsstands January 14th. PS The February issue with Shakira on the cover is available digitally now!   glamour.com/app

“Devious Maids” Star and Mom Ana Ortiz Talks Meal Planning and Her Hit Show!

Actress Ana Ortiz is one of the busiest women in show business. As the star of the hit Lifetime show “Devious Maids” and mom to two kids, it can be extremely difficult to plan a healthy nutritious meal her entire family (including her husband!) will love! That’s why Ortiz has teamed up with Campbell Soup for their Wisest Kid in the World campaign to dish on how busy parents can make a great meal in a jiffy their entire family will adore.

Ana was kind enough to join me recently to dish on The Wisest Kid in the World, her hit show “Devious Maids” (which was just picked up for a second season), and much more!

Candace Rose: As a busy mom of two children, do you have any suggestions on how parents can get their kids to eat healthier?

Ana Ortiz: “I do, as a matter of fact. My kids are really young- they’re two and four, and they’re very picky eaters. In fact, I’m married to a very picky eater, and we both are working so it’s been difficult. That’s why I’m so excited to work with Campbell Soup because they have discovered ‘The Wisest Kid in the Whole World’ who is a guru- this eternally eight year old guru. You want to know what makes a kid happy? You ask a kid. So this website is really so exciting. You can go to WisestKid.com, they have recipes and really fun tips on how to make easy, delicious meals. It has been a real lifesaver in my home, let me tell you.”

Candace Rose: What inspired you to team up with Campbell Soup for the Wisest Kid in the Whole World campaign?

Ana Ortiz: “Well, I’m a working mom and there’s a guilt that goes along with that because I can’t make these phenomenal meals, and I’m so tired of throwing something down from the freezer. This has been really wonderful, I can go to WisestKid.com and find a quick recipe. They’re delicious. I just made these chicken and cheese enchiladas the other night, unbelievable. They’re so delicious, they’re my husband’s favorite thing that I’ve made. It’s just been a lot of fun.”

Candace Rose: What are some of your favorite mealtime tips for parents?

Ana Ortiz: “I would say, you don’t have to panic about it. You can take it really easy. I would really recommend going to the website- there’s a chicken alfredo recipe that’s delicious. You can go on Twitter, you can go on Facebook.

For me, my daughter’s just learning how to read, so she’s super into the alphabet soup and making words, and that’s been a lot of fun for us. My son is almost two, and for him he’s discovered how to slurp up the noodles from chicken noodle soup. Kids love soup, and I think I just sort of forgot that. It’s been a real lifesaver for us. The Wisest Kid has all kinds of tips and you can also ask questions as well. I would recommend that if you have any questions, you can go on there and ask and get the answers that you need.”

Candace Rose: Can you tell us about your hit Lifetime show “Devious Maids”?

Ana Ortiz: “I’d love to! We are airing our finale this coming Sunday. Lifetime’s going to have a marathon, so anybody who needs to can catch up on what they’ve missed and watch our finale. It’s going to be a real doozy this year. We got picked up for a second season, so we start shooting in January. We’re really excited about, I think it’s going to be even juicier and crazier next season. There’s a lot to look forward to.

I know I’m going to keep busy and the busier it gets, the harder it gets. Again, I really recommend people check out WisestKid.com.”

Candace Rose: Well, thank you so much, Ana. Where can we go for more information on everything you mentioned today?

Ana Ortiz: “You can go on Facebook, you can go on Twitter, you can go to CampbellSoupKitchen.com, WisestKid.com. There’s a lot of places where you can check everything out and ask questions, and get all kinds of fun tips and recipes.”

Monumental Mysteries Host Don Wildman on His New Show Premiering Tonight

If you’re an avid fan of Don Wildman’s show “Mysteries at the Museum”, you’ll be excited to hear he has a new show premiering tonight called “Monumental Mysteries” where he covers monuments throughout America. Don was kind enough to join me for an interview yesterday to discuss “Monumental Mysteries” and give us a sneak peek of tonight’s episode!

"Monumental Mysteries" host Don Wildman dishes on his new show premiering n the Travel Channel on Thursday May 9th at 9 pm ET/PT.

“Monumental Mysteries” host Don Wildman dishes on his new show premiering n the Travel Channel on Thursday May 9th at 9 pm ET/PT.

Candace Rose: Can you tell us about your new show “Monumental Mysteries”?

Don Wildman: “Monumental Mysteries” grew out of another series I’ve been doing for Travel Channel called “Mysteries at the Museum.” Monumental follows a similar format which is six different stories of history throughout an hour long format. So in this case, what we’re covering are the monuments of America, and that’s a very broad term which kind of encompasses the large memorials that we’re aware of in say Washington D.C., the engineering feats of the Golden Gate bridge for instance to the gravestones. Anything that marks history with an object is on our show one way or the other?”

Candace Rose: Which monument had the most surprising story? Can you share any secrets with us?

Don Wildman: “Sure. In the debut episode- this show is airing on Thursday nights at 9 on the Travel Channel – the debut episode has a really fascinating story right up front, and that’s the story of Mercy Brown. She’s represented by a gravestone. This town in Rhode Island became convinced that this woman that died of tuberculosis actually had become a vampire, and they do this by exhuming the grave and…I’m not going to give it away, you have to watch the show and that’s what we’ve done with every segment. We look for the story about that object, that memorial, that monument that tweaks it a little bit that turns the light on that object.”

Candace Rose: What is your favorite monument?

Don Wildman: “I’m a big grand guy, I like the stories, so I really like walking down the National Mall and I’m a big Abe Lincoln fan so I guess the Lincoln Memorial would be a favorite of mine.”

Candace Rose: Is there one monument in the U.S. or abroad that you haven’t been to and you’re just dying to see?

Don Wildman: “I’ve always wanted to repel down Mount Rushmore. Who hasn’t? I saw “North by Northwest”, I’ve always dreamed of getting a very close upfront look at that monument. I’ll tell you what, when you go and visit Mount Rushmore, I find it disappointing to stand at a distance, it kind of looks a little small when you’re at that viewing platform. But it ain’t small at all if you get up closer.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any additional information on “Monumental Mysteries” that you’d like to share with us?

Don Wildman: “About the shows- there’s 13 ahead of us right now and so for the next three months or so we’re going to do about 75 stories that I promise will give you a feeling of American history like you’ve not known it before, it comes alive through these things. I really like this show for that reason alone because history television in general should wake you up to the world around you. The routine in America is basically driving past these things and sort of getting used to them.

I like this show because it basically drops you in your tracks and says- ‘Who was that guy representing in that building?’ ‘Or that woman represented by that statue?’ What you will walk right past, we stop you and talk about.”

Candace Rose: Where can we go for more information?

Don Wildman: “TravelChannel.com has a lot on both “Monumental Mysteries” and “Mysteries at the Museum.” You can check out my website at GoToWildman.com and keep your eye on the papers.”

Carrie Underwood’s Glam Gown on American Idol

There’s no denying that Carrie Underwood was definitely the best dressed on Thursday night’s American Idol episode. Did you have a chance to catch it? She performed her latest hit, and looked glam in a peach colored Oliver Tolentino Eco-Couture gown.

Carrie’s naturally-dyed peach eco gown was made from the fiber of pineapple leaves. The gown featured a draped bodice and flowing skirt with a slit at the side.

Don’t forget to catch Carrie Underwood on tonight’s ACM (Academy of Country Music) awards. It’ll be interesting to see if she sports Oliver Tolentino tonight as well?!
