Working mothers are among the hardest working in the world. They work 40+ hours a week, take the kids to school, pick them up, make breakfast, school lunches, dinners, drive them to soccer practice, take care of their aging parents and that’s just the beginning! Most are also in charge of making important household decisions such as choosing health coverage. According to a recent survey released by Working Mother’s magazine, women make approximately 80 percent of the health care decisions in the their families and take the lead role in choosing health plans. If these women are anything like my mother was when I was growing up, they also help make important healthcare decisions for their elderly parents as well.
Choosing health coverage can be stressful and something many of us don’t look forward to doing, but since open enrollment is officially upon us, it’s one of those things that has to be done. Luckily for us, renowned wealth expert and Renegade Millionaire radio show host Winnie Sun was kind enough to join me for an interview this week to discuss some of the biggest mistakes women make when searching for healthcare. She explained what a high-deductible plan is and some of the unforeseen consequences of choosing this type of plan. Winnie also shared some of the best resources for women to help mitigate financial risks when it comes to health care costs and much more.
