Dr. Jade Miller, D.D.S. Talks Halloween Candy, How To Protect Kids Teeth From Mouth Monsters!

If there’s one things kids love about Halloween, it’s definitely the endless amount of candy they get at Halloween parties and/or while trick or treating. Who doesn’t love candy? According to Fact Finder, “Each year Americans spend nearly $9 billion on candy, much of it ends up on the teeth of the 41 million trick-or-treating children ages 5-14 across the U.S.” The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) wants to remind parents that when it comes to cavities, not all Halloween treats are created equal.

Renowned dentist Dr. Jade Miller, D.D.S. (and President of the AADP) joined me for an interview to discuss what makes Halloween such a scary holiday for kids teeth, the worst kind of candy to have (my favorite sour candy made this list!),  andtricky treats that are a healthier option. He also shared simple ways to keep the “mouth monsters” (tooth decay) from harming kids teeth this Halloween season, and much more!
