Did you splurge on delicious and decadent food on Easter with family and friends? If so, you’re definitely not alone! If you’re hooked on sweets but don’t want the added calories or sugar, you’re in luck! This morning one of my favorite registered dietitians, the one and only Joy Bauer stopped by the Today show to show Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie how to make delicious “Joy Food” strawberry cheesecake and cinnamon buns (cinna-yums) with less calories.

To make the delicious strawberry cheesecake (which is 638 calories less than the regular version), Joy used ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, egg whites, sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla, kosher salt, cornstarch, strawberries and a trusty food processor. This looks and sounds delicious! Be sure to watch the video below for details and head over to the Today show website for the recipe.
To make the fabulous low calorie cinna-yums cinnamon buns which have 730 less calories than the regular version, renowned registered dietitian Joy Bauer mentioned you’ll need pumpkin puree, yogurt, brown sugar, vanilla, your choice of flour, baking soda, kosher salt, cinnamon, light cream cheese, and maple syrup. Both dishes have Matt Lauer’s seal of approval, which is huge. Mr. Lauer has the power to make a recipe go viral, like this spaghetti pie. Please be sure to check out the recipe for the cinna-yums cinnamon buns on Joy Bauer’s website
