NYC Dermatologist Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali and Beauty Expert Christine Bibbo Herr Talk Decolletage Trend and Share Beauty Tips!

Like many of you, I’ve been sporting comfy and cozy turtlenecks and cable-knit sweaters this winter, but with spring-like weather upon us in Northern California, now is the time to start thinking about how you can get your skin ready for spring, especially your décolletage.

Style, beauty, and fitness contributor Christine Bibbo Herr and renowned dermatologist Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali joined me this week to discuss the hot new décolletage trend, and share tips on how we can look and feel our best this spring and summer.

Candace Rose: Christine can you tell us about the décolletage trend we’re seeing?

Christine Bibbo Herr: “Sure! Dipping necklines and exposed skin have been all over the red carpet this season, but you don’t have to get discouraged by those glowing skin and toned upper bodies that you’re seeing on the celebrities. You can get red carpet ready too with just a few simple steps.

I’m actually loving a quick, easy effective workout that you can do anywhere, they’re called wall angels. You basically just stand up against a wall with your feet hip width apart, arms straight out to the sides and then bend your elbows 90 degrees, raise your arms up straight overhead and then back down to 90 degrees (please see video above to see Christine demonstrate this exercise). Do this about 10 times and then you can repeat two reps of 15. Add light weights for a little more tone and texture.”

Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali: “I think traditionally people really focus on the face when it comes to firming, plumping, texturizing. Unfortunately they often neglect the hands, the neck and the chest area. The décolletage is tricky because we don’t have as much fatty tissue in the area and even fewer oil glands, so you have an increased chance of getting dryness, wrinkling and other things. I try to keep it simple with my patients. If they have a great regiment for the face and neck, then extend it down a little bit to the top part of your chest. You start with a nice gentle exfoliating cleanser to really prime the area, and a nice hydrating cream afterward.”

Christine Bibbo Herr: “I’m loving Roc’s new Multi Correxion 5 in 1 chest, neck and face cream with SPF 30. It’s super nourishing and it absorbs straight into your skin. It’s packed with vitamin E and a technology called hexanol, which is great for diminishing fine lines, wrinkles and dry skin in just four weeks.”

Please watch the video above for more information on how you can protect your skin this spring, especially from the sun’s harmful rays! Christine also has some great suggestions on how you can accentuate your décolletage with beautiful jewelry.
