This morning I had a chance to chat with tech expert Russ Frushtick about the latest in technology for 2016. The only problem is I wish this interview had taken place a few months ago, as it is chock full of great information, especially for those of us who don’t have the best of luck with tech devices. You see, Russ mentioned this great new tech service that Staples offers where they’ll fix your broken device with a next day guarantee and well, I just wish I’d known about this in October when my trusty iPhone broke. I ended up getting a new phone and starting an entirely new contract due to that issue!
Before you replace your broken tech device, you’ll definitely want to check out my interview and if you rely on headphones for work, for the ride home or for working out, you’ll definitely want to hear Russ Frushtick’s recommendations below as well. Be sure to watch the video to see the interview in its entirety and I also transcribed it for you too. Enjoy!
Candace Rose: What are some ways to prevent the most common problems with our tech devices these days?
Russ Frushtick: “A lot of people will drop their phones, they’ll get a virus on their computer – it’s all pretty common. Thankfully in these scenarios, I think people feel very overwhelmed but Staples has this new service it’s the next day guarantee as part of their Staples tech services. You can bring your device in, it can be a phone, a camera, a laptop, iPad (you name it). You bring it right into Staples by noon and they’ll get it fixed by five pm the next day or it’s free. It’s a really great deal for a lot of people that are very overwhelmed when these tech devices go awry.”
Candace Rose: What about maintenance of our office and other equipment?
Russ Frushtick: “If it’s a general maintenance, if you’ve got a small business this is a really good service because for general maintenance which is very important – backing up data or making sure that all of your devices are going to be running smoothly, Staples will handle that too.
You bring it in, you ask them questions, tell them what you’re looking for whether it’s protection or what have you and they’ll handle that. If you’re kind of curious what they cover exactly, you can go to Staples.com/TechServices and that has a full range of what they cover.”
Candace Rose: What’s new in the world of audio devices for those who can’t live without their headsets?
Russ Frushtick: “CES was just a few weeks ago and this new company called GigsAudio.com came out with this full range of headphones (please see video above to see Russ discuss the Gigs Dynamics wireless headphones that retail for $149, the $79 Foldable Bass headphones, and waterproof earbuds). They all come with a warranty for 30 days and if you don’t like them, you can just return them and they have a warranty that lasts a full year.”
