The battle rounds kicked off tonight’s episode of “The Voice” season 9 and they were amazing! It’s no surprise, especially since they’re all so talented, have amazing coaches and guest coaches too. Adam Levine’s contestants were treated to guest coach John Fogerty of the famed classic rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, Blake Shelton’s team was mentored by country superstar Brad Paisley, Gwen Stefani had pop star Selena Gomez, and last but definitely not least Pharrell Williams was joined by the legendary Missy Elliott. See drama teacher Barrett Baber of Arkansas vs. 35 year old Dustin Christensen of Orem, Utah sing Marc Cohn’s hit song “Walking in Memphis.” Congrats to Barrett Baber on winning round one! See 27 year old barber, Dustin Monk of Jacksonville, Florida vs. former paramedic James Dupre of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana sing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic rock song “Fortunate Son.” Congrats to James on winning the first round. Best of luck to Dustin! They were both amazing tonight.

See 27 year old Gospel singer Celeste Betton of Hinesville, Georgia vs. Mark Hood of Chicago perform Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s classic song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” beautifully! This was my favorite performance of the night. Congratulations to Mark on winning the battle round! Best of luck to Celeste as well. Their cover of this hit song was beautiful!
