If you’re looking to get healthy, fit and shape but don’t have time to head to the gym, the Today show is helping you do so from the comfort of your own home. Four weeks ago they introduced us to three people (Ken, Rachelle, Mary Jean) who were looking to get fit by 2016 with the help of Today Nutritionist Joy Bauer and Today Fitness Correspondent, Jenna Wolfe. This morning they were back on the Today show for week 4 of the 16 To 16 Challenge to share simple tips for these football fans (and all of us a home) who are tempted to snack on junk food while watching football and how we can get fit during commercial breaks!
According to Jenna Wolfe (clad in a New England Patriots Tom Brady jersey), you can get fit by exercising during commercial breaks and halftime (I prefer to exercise when the Dallas Cowboys are leading by dancing my way to commercials…but that’s another story!). Some of her favorite exercises include bear crawls, and tap jump squats with a football. Believe it or not, if you do these exercises during the commercial breaks and halftime, Jenna says you can “burn about 100 calories!”
Tamron Hall (decked in a Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo NFL jersey) was joined by renowned Today Nutritionist Joy Bauer who dished on healthy spicy buffalo chicken wings, her back on the cheese dip, and a low calorie 7 layer dip (my weakness!) for her 16 To 16 challenge participants. I don’t have the recipes here, so please head over to Today.com/Food for all the amazing recipes and more! Don’t forget to watch the video below.
Video: Watch Today Fitness Correspondent Jenna Wolfe and Today Nutritionist Joy Bauer dish on the healthy recipes and exercises they shared for the 16 To 16 challenge on the Thursday, October 8, 2015 episode of the Today show. ** If you have any questions or comments about this segment, please contact the Today show directly on their website.
