I love to update and upgrade my home decor any chance I can get. Just last year I painted my bedroom, bought new bedding and thought my room looked as fabulous as ever, but over the last few months I’ve changed my mind (or lost my mind!;) and have completely overhauled my bedroom and added a glam floor length mirror, new curtains as closet doors, and I’m now looking to purchase new bedroom furniture. If you too are looking to update your bedroom decor or recently purchased a new home, you know how expensive these items can be, especially bedding and pillows. This morning on the Today show, “Style Me Pretty” founder Abby Larson stopped by our favorite morning program to dish on some of her favorite DIY projects including an uber popular handmade calligraphy pillow, and an awning stripe rug in black and white.
According to Style Me Pretty’s, Abby Larson the gorgeous calligraphy pillow she DIY’d only takes 15 minutes! You’ll need pillow case covers, an iron-on transfer, home printer, a template on StyleMePretty.com, an iron and you’re set.
To make the awning stripe rug in black and white, Abby dished that you’ll need a heavyweight cotton drop cloth, painters tape, a latex black paint, paint roller and you’re good! Be sure to watch the video below to see just how Style Me Pretty founder, Abby Larson created the gorgeous calligraphy pillow and awning stripe rug in minutes, so you create these beautiful pieces for your bedroom at a fraction of the price!
