Fall is one of the busiest times of the year, especially for busy moms on the go! Author and organizing expert Mary Carlomagno was kind enough to join me recently for an interview to share her top life hacks for busy moms and dads looking to stay on track this fall and the rest of the school year.
Candace Rose: Do you have any advice on how busy moms on the go can stay on track this fall?
Mary Carlomagno: “Absolutely. There’s really no substitute for being prepared. I tell this to my clients and I write about it all the time in my books. Having a plan and being prepared can really get you through the day when those little mishaps happen to derail your day. With a good plan you can stay on track. My first tip I want to share with you is all about clutter, and combatting chaos and clutter in the house. I like to have a good labeling system, which is why I love the Scotch Double Sided Tape applicator. It adheres double sided tape to labels so you can label just about anything in your house – from file folders in the home office to jars in your kitchen to bins in the playroom for toy storage. You can even store your office season clothing for the off season. It’s super easy for clean up because you can see where everything is, but the best part is you never get sticky fingers because your fingers never touch the tape.”
Candace Rose: How can busy moms keep track of their daily lives on the go?
Mary Carlomagno: “Well, it’s important to have the right tools and to be prepared. We’ve all had that scenario where a child comes to us and wants to print something for tomorrow and we go to the printer and uh-oh it’s out of ink. Well, you never have to worry about that again with the HP ENVY 4520. It’s one of HP’s newest printers that features HP instant ink. It’s a monthly ink replacement service beginning at only $2.99 a month. The printer orders the ink for you automatically, it gets delivered to your door and it helps you to print what matters most up to 50% less. This is one of those great do-ahead solutions.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share with us?
Mary Carlomagno: “I absolutely do, Candace. Part of being organized and having the right tools is staying connected, and we want to stay connected on a budget, which is why Straight Talk is the perfect solution. For only $45 a month, it’s 30 day unlimited talk and text, five gigabytes of data and 4G LTE speeds on compatible phones. You have the bring your own phone program so can keep the things you love – your phone, your network and your number. This is something that fits in perfectly with the busy lifestyle of families, especially with back to school time when you’re trying to stay in touch and you want something reliable. I would check them out for sure at StraightTalk.com.”
Candace Rose: Well, thank you so much, Mary. Where can we go for more information?
Mary Carlomagno: “For everything I mentioned, check out ScotchBrand.com, HP.com, and StraightTalk.com. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter where I give lots of great organizing advice throughout the year.”
