Yesterday may have officially been Earth Day, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate Earth Day every day by adopting a happy and eco friendly lifestyle! TLC “Sunday Brunch” host and “Closer Weekly’s” Contributing Editor, Ereka Vetrini joined me for an interview to dish on her blog called BeyoutifulMoms.com where she recently dished on Earth Day and how you can educate your children and entire family on being “green”.
Ereka’s a proud mom of two small children (four and six years old) who want to make a difference to stop pollution. She started out by getting “a bunch of books that are for kids all about Earth Day”, which you can find on her blog. She also taught them about the 3R’s: recycle, reuse and reduce with a great game that you can teach your children how to play as well. Last but not least, she put together an action plan with her family on being greener.
In addition to Ereka Vetrini’s amazing eco friendly tips on her blog, she has partnered with a few different companies (listed below) that she mentioned in the video above.
- Did you know that there are one billion batteries piling up in landfills? Energizer EcoAdvanced Battery is the world’s first Double A alkaline battery made with four percent recycled batteries, and it’s longer lasting!
- 135 million cellphones are discarded every year and only 11% of them are recycled. Sprint is giving their customers up to a $350 credit when they return their eligible phones.
- Most projectors have mercury bulbs, but the Casio Slim Projector does not. It uses the Casio 5th generation LED and light source hybrid. It is 100% lampfree.
- Naked Grape partnered with Terracycle to create a three liter boxed wine that’s fully recyclable from bag to box. The wine stays fresh for 30 days once you open it! It comes in varieties like Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot and all of your favorites.
