Candace Rose: What’s special for gamers this spring?

Katie Linendoll: “Let’s talk gaming because I know a lot of my friends are disappointed that on their wish list they did not get an Xbox One console. They have an awesome opportunity now because if you know Halo, there are lots of Halo fans (myself included) – this is an amazing bundle (please see video above for details). Here’s the deal – $349.99. This is an exclusive bundle including an Xbox One console is the Halo Master Chief collection bundle. It comes with all four Halo digital games – Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. I like to say a little bonus live action digital series Halo: Nightfall. All of this in one bundle, and it won’t disappoint any gamer. Again, $349.99.”

Candace Rose: What’s your pick for home security?

Katie Linendoll: “Home security, I’m amazed by because I feel like over the last few years alone – home security used to be big and bulky and very expensive, lots of wires. Simplicam is the modern home security, it’s powered by Closeli. What’s really cool about it is sleek and compact, but it’s powerful. It’s simple and easy to use. You can actually start it and install it in about three minutes. It’s the first home monitoring system with facial recognition technology. It can detect the difference between a dog jumping up and down and somebody inside your living room. It will send you alerts when only appropriate.

Speaking about pets, it actually has a two way talk feature too which is really neat. If you’re at work and you’ve got a little puppy or a little cat at home, and you want to say hey to the pup in there, you do it through the gadget and you can two way talk, which I think is really cool. Simplicam starting at $149.99.”

Candace Rose: How can people get back into the dating scene?

Katie Linendoll: “Online dating – I have to tell you, my friends and family have had so much success in online dating and rightfully so. It’s doing the work for you behind the scenes, and I love that. The number one dating app is Zoosk. There are 33 million members. What’s neat about it is it actually starts to understand what you like kind of like Netflix, so based on your clicks and your preferences it starts to figure you out and give you good suggestions. You can browse profiles for free. It only costs anything once you decide you’re in and you want to message somebody. I know you’re going to love this feature, I like to say ‘no more catfishing’. You see a guy online, you’re like ‘Oh my gosh, he’s super hot’ and then you meet him at the bar and it’s like – ‘Wait a second, is that the same person? It looks nothing like the photo.’ Zoosk actually has an online verification tool. You take a seven second video selfie and the Zoozk moderators give you a checkmark if you look like your photo. Now you know what you’re getting into, no more catfishing and enhanced security.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any top picks for digital security?

Katie Linendoll: “Digital security, absolutely. Kind of the unfun part of my job is there’s lots more devices, your digital life is getting bigger…unfortunately with that comes more threats and more hacks, so you’ve got to stay protected. You can’t put a price point on that, even though it’s so affordable which I love. Kaspersky Total Security just launched – brand new. We talk about affordability, and is something you can’t put a price on. It’s under $100 to protect multiple devices. Protect yourself from webcam hacks, protect yourself from online shopping hacks. If you’re a parent and you want to restrict your kid from inappropriate content, it’s got you covered on the entire gamut of hacks and threats. Take advantage of that for all of your devices, no matter if they’re Mac, PC, iOS or Android.”

Candace Rose: Is there anything special for streamlining your devices?

Katie Linendoll: “Yes, 2-in-1s very popular. I like to even call this 2-in-1 beyond this is an Intel powered Yoga 3 Pro. It’s called Yoga for a reason, and here’s the reason: it goes into four different modes/360 degrees. It goes from a stand to a tent to a laptop to a tablet, and powerful specs combined with powerful performance and energy efficiency. To me, I know it sounds nerdy but I want that powerful processor inside here so it’s lightening fast speeds and also it’s going to give me the battery life that I need. It has an M core processor, 7.2 hours of battery life, and it’s so thin you can slide it underneath a door – all of this for work and play. It’s going to be a device that’s going to be an investment for under $1300.”

Candace Rose: What’s new in must have tablet accessories?

Katie Linendoll: “I’ve got to show you this one because I know you’re going to like it. You’ve got your tablet, you’re watching content online, you’re reading some articles on the couch – handsfree. This is a company called Octa and right here is a spider monkey (please see video above for details). This can go on the ground or you can stick this little guy into the couch and put it at any viewing angle. This one is winning awards at CES, it’s called the Lynx and it will clamp to any surface flat or round. You start at $79.99, it’s incredibly practical to view your content or work handsfree – pretty neat little gadget from Octa.”

Candace Rose: Where can we go for more information?

Katie Linendoll: “For more info on all of these gadgets – ThunkNews.com/SpringPicks.”
