If you can’t get enough of our friends Daphne, Carla, Clinton, Mario and Mr. Michael Symon at “The Chew”, you’re in luck! Today our favorite chefs/co-hosts were guests on ABC’s “The View” to share some of their favorite appetizers and meal ideas just in time for the holidays. Can you believe that Christmas is just a week away?
Chef Michael Symon, chef Mario Batali, Daphne Oz, chef Carla Hall and Clinton Kelly of “The Chew” join Rosie Perez, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell and Nicole Wallace of “The View” on Tuesday, December 16th!
Chef Michael Symon shared an appetizer recipe on “The View” that calls for pizza dough, sauteed spinach, feta cheese and pine nuts. He then rolled it into a pinwheel and cut it and baked it at 350 until it was golden brown.
Chef Mario Batali dished an Arista Toscana which is a roasted pork with garlic cloves, rosemary (among other ingredients) roasted in the oven over cut up pieces of fennel. It can be served either right out of the oven or at room temperature.
Daphne Oz shared her recipe for glazed carrots on “The View”! Ms. Oz dished that “this is a really simple side dish to go with the Arista Toscana. It’s glazed carrots, a little ginger, a little garlic, a little orange juice and zest.” Believe it or not but the secret ingredient is ginger ale!
Chef Carla Hall dished a beautiful coconut cake! The “jam” in this cake (according to Ms. Hall) is the icing – it’s sour cream, sugar and coconut in the icing. When it comes to the holidays you can’t forget about delicious spiced nuts!
Clinton Kelly shared his recipe for one of his amazing holiday cocktails, his mistletoe Bellini. The drink calls for raspberry liqueur, pureed raspberry and some rosé champagne. Mr. Kelly also dished that he has a non-alcoholic version that has raspberry puree and seltzer with a gold rim.
