Most of us love to indulge on homemade cookies and sweets during the holidays, but it can be overwhelming especially if you’re snacking on cookies from your neighbors, coworkers, and friends throughout the month of December! Today on “The Chew“, one of my favorite interviewees, chef Carla Hall made a delicious chocolate chip cookie mix that would be the perfect gift for loved ones, but would also be amazing to store so you can make yummy cookies whenever your precious heart desires.
Chef Carla Hall Mason Jar DIY Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
- Glass jar or large mason jar
- 2 1/4 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 layer of chocolate chips
- Store the glass jar in a cool dark place.
PS Carla says you don’t have to stop with chocolate chips, you can also add your favorites like peanut butter, nuts, toffee, oatmeal or dried fruit (perhaps my favorite) macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips, etc!
Once you’ve added all of your ingredients into your glass jar, be sure to add a name tag with instructions on how to prepare your chocolate chip cookie mix (or whatever cookie mix you’ve made for your friends and family).
Be sure to watch the video below for details on how to make chef Carla Hall’s DIY delicious chocolate chip cookie mix as seen on the Monday, December 22, 2014 episode of “The Chew”.
