Candace Rose: What is the future of credit cards and debit cards?

Mario Armstrong: “The future is amazing. The future is happening actually right now. I don’t know about you but I don’t walk around with a lot of cash in my pocket, I walk around with mostly plastic and so that can be limiting in a lot of situations. There’s a great app that’s called the Cash App from Square. It’s the fastest and easiest way to request money. It’s a free app, all you need is a debit card, a phone number and an email address and you’re off and running. For example, recently I had someone over at the house, they were doing some housework for me and I needed to give him a tip, and I didn’t have any cash on me. I said ‘Wait, give me your email address and I can send it to you right now.’

It works flawlessly, it’s highly secure. Of course people are going to ask me ‘Mario, did you test the security of it?’ Of course I did, I wouldn’t be talking about it if I didn’t. I think it’s great, especially as we roll into the holiday season. People are maybe going to be spending a little bit more money and maybe owe their friends and family some money back, and it’s an easy way to get them cash. You can go to their website to try it out. You can actually text them (texting is available on it now) and get a dollar into your bank account to try it out.”

Candace Rose: Are there any fees (like PayPal)?

Mario Armstrong: “No. That’s a great question. There’s no third party stuff going on. It goes directly into your bank account as is. So if I want to send you $25, you’re going to get $25.”

Candace Rose: What’s hot in gaming?

Mario Armstrong: “What’s hot in gaming is the hottest next generation console that’s just been selling like hotcakes – 10 million of these have sold and that’s the Sony PlayStation 4. They’ve put together a tremendous bundle of the console and the DualShock 4 controller, which is awesome – it’s got some great features on that, as well as the hottest game, Destiny. This game is so hot by a company called Bungie. For those that are into gaming know that Bungie made Halo, and Halo is a huge successful series. This is a different game but it’s similar in that you do have to save the world. The graphics are amazing, the plot and the storyline is great, and you get it in this glacier white color if you get this exclusive bundle that stye have out right now.”

Candace Rose: Is there anything new in mobile security?

Mario Armstrong: “Yes, there’s things always happening and we’re hearing about it in the news all the time with people’s phones getting hacked into all the time for photos and for other stuff. I wanted to point out an app that’s great for people on the Android, it’s called Kaspersky Internet Security for Android, and this will protect your device from viruses and malware, but also from theft. A couple of things that are really interesting about this is you can track it down by location, so that’s kind of common. You can remotely wipe the data off of it too, so if it gets into someone’s hands and you want to get the personal info off of there, you can do that. But here’s a really cool feature that a lot of others don’t have – the mugshot feature. You can remotely turn on the camera on the phone and take a picture of the criminal and send that to law enforcement if you want to.”

Candace Rose: Are there any dating apps for singles?

Mario Armstrong: “I’ve been testing this app, it’s the number one mobile dating app, so on the mobile device – this thing is hot, it’s called Zoosk. It is free to download it. Two reasons why I really like it -for one, it has something called behavioral matchmaking technology, and that means as I use the app over time it really learns about my style, my characteristics, my personality and my preferences and it tries to do a better job to match me up. The second thing is (and I love this) it kind of a first of its kind safety feature – it has a photo verification tool in it that verifies your identity. I signed up, put my photo in there, and it realized (I tried to trick it) and it sent me an email and declined my photo. It’s really good because what you see is what you get and that should be what happens when you’re on a dating app like that. For the fall season, for all you singles out there, check that app out and see if that finds a nice romantic partner for you.”

Candace Rose: Are there any safe apps that parents can trust for their kids?

Mario Armstrong: “Yes, absolutely. There’s a lot out there for kids and they want to jump on social media and do a lot of things too, but as some parents may not know if your kid is under the age of 13, legally they’re not supposed to be on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and sites like that. This app is called Kuddle, and it’s made by parents who wanted to create an app that could be used by kids under the age of 13. This is all about teaching kids and introducing them to social media – giving them a way to actually play and do some things, but in a safe environment with a lot of parental controls and things to prevent online bullying as well. It’s a really smart app that was created because kids are going to get into social media anyway, we may as well teach them smartly while they’re young to make the right decisions when they get older.”

Candace Rose: Are there any other must haves that we need to know about?

Mario Armstrong: “The last one I have blows me away how they got the price point of this thing so low – it’s a tablet, it’s all day battery life. The tablet is amazing, it looks great, it’s lightweight and it’s made by Acer, but it’s only $149. This is the Acer Iconia A1-830 with Intel inside. It’s great for the whole family. I don’t care if you’re an adult or a kid, Intel processor and Intel Inside is really important because that’s how you partially get to that all day battery life – that’s huge. And you’re also gonna get great graphics, its beautiful display and your apps are really going to pop and jump off the screen because it has that Intel processor going on in it.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share with us?

Mario Armstrong: “I think that people should just make sure that they’re buying technology for the right reason. I think we gave everybody a lot of different ideas. Think about how it’s going to impact someone’s life and make the right decision and if you need more information on the stuff that I just covered, it’s easy just go to the website. We have it all listed there for you and the site is ThunkNews.com/FallRoundup.”
