Just three short weeks ago the world said goodbye to comedian Robin Williams, and unfortunately we learned today that we will have to do the same to Joan Rivers. The legendary comedienne and Fashion Police host passed away in New York today at just 81 years of age.

Joan always said what was on her mind (many times things we wish we had the courage to say), entertained millions for decades, but most importantly she was a wonderful mother to her daughter Melissa. Melissa and Joan were as close as mother and daughter could get, so I can’t begin to grasp the pain Melissa must be in today. On Facebook I was prompted to click on “Melissa’s heartbreaking statement”, but I couldn’t look. My heart is breaking for Melissa Rivers today, she was blessed to have a wonderful mother whom she was so close to…but I am speechless. My thoughts and prayers are with Melissa, her son Edgar and their extended family and friends. God bless you, Joan Rivers! May you rest in peace.
