Candace Rose: What are some of the best gadgets or gift ideas on your must have list?

Jeana Lee Tahnk: “Getting back into school mode is always a transition for everyone in the family, so I have three products that I wanted to talk about to help that process just a little bit.

The first is a product by JBL. JBL is really known for its high quality audio products and this is the JBL Pulse. The sound quality is the same amazing sound quality that you come to expect from this brand. It’s really portable, it’s really not much bigger than the size of a soda can, but what’s really neat about this speaker is the light show that comes with it. It’s basically an instant dance party and it’s a great way for kids if they want to have some music playing while they’re doing their homework or even used as motivation for the kids to finish up their homework so they can have a dance party after – it’s great! And using a JBL mobile app, you can actually even control the light colors, the way the light moves you can make it all one color or multicolored. It’s a great audio accessory for any kid to have in their room.”

Candace Rose: Are there any other must haves that we need to know about?

Jeana Lee Tahnk: “Yes, so talking about programmable things, we go from a programmable speaker to a programmable ball. This is amazing, this is the Sphero 2.0. It’s a robotic ball that is completely controlled by your smartphone or tablet. There are 30 apps that come with it that let you do a whole host of things. You can have the Sphero run around the room and roll around the room or you can have it go off of these ramps. This actually goes up to seven feet per sec on, which is really fast. Kids can have a great time, it changes colors, it lights up. There are all these different activities you can do with it. I love that it mixes education with entertainment because while kids are having such fun with it, they’re probably not realizing that at the same time they’re learning about math, science, physics, even programming concepts which is really the reason why the company wants to get this into more schools using its SPRK program which is short for Schools, Parents, Robots and Kids. That’s really their recognition. This has been such a great learning accessory and in honor of back to school for the next two weeks they’re having a sale – Sphero will be $99. Sphero is a great way to get kids back into the academic learning mode.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any additional back to school shopping tips?

Jeana Lee Tahnk: “Yes, the last thing is when school is in session, homework is always the name of the game, and with kids using the computer and the laptop and any other devices you have around the house, it’s really essential that they stay protected when they’re online. Panda Security is actually launching a brand new product called Panda Global Protection 2015, which ensures that kids computers and themselves are completely safeguarded when online. It protects computers from all those nasty viruses and bugs that are out there, but also it protects kids from inappropriate content. You can also block websites and have filters for keywords so that’s a back to school must have, especially for when kids are starting to use the computer.

These are just a few tips to help ease that transition a little bit. You can go to JeanaGetsThis.com for more information or the companies websites.”
