If there’s one thing I’ve looked forward to on a daily basis for the last week or so, it’s watching the Little League World Series. I honestly couldn’t get enough of watching these talented kids from around the world compete for a title. There was no money involved, no endorsements, just kids playing for a championship and the pure love of the game. If there were three things I’ll remember most from this year’s Little League World Series, it’s New England coach Dave Belisle’s inspiring speech, Mexico’s 4′ 8″ phenom Ruy Martinez, and the one and only, Mo’ne Davis (of the Taney Dragons) who has inspired girls of all ages and around the world to throw like a girl. I have a feeling we’ll be hearing about this girl for years to come, and it just may be on the basketball court (her dream is to play at UConn).
Today the city of Philadelphia welcomed Mo’ne Davis and the Taney Dragons home after an outstanding performance at the Little League World Series! Congrats to these inspiring teens.
