Is your garden overflowing with cucumbers and not sure what to do with them? Cucumbers are the perfect beauty essential, and according to Beauty by Jess of the “Daily Buzz”, they’re packed with 95% water and vitamin E. They’ll reduce redness and inflammation, help soothe sunburns, reduce water retention, reduce cellulite, cure puffy eyes and the dreaded wrinkles. Amen!
If you’re plagued by puffy eyes, cut two slices of cold cucumbers and place them over your eyes. Leave them on for 15 minutes.
It’s wedding season, if you’re planning on drinking a little bit on Saturday, you’ll definitely want to drink some cucumber water Saturday night/Sunday morning when you get home to avoid the dreaded hangover. Before you leave the house to head to your bestie’s wedding, add a couple slices of cucumbers to a pitcher of water, leave them in there for a couple of hours or even overnight and you’re set! Cucumber water will also help brighten skin, and curb your appetite.
Who doesn’t love a beauty facial, especially on a warm summer day? All you need is half a cucumber, 1 tbsp of natural yogurt. Puree the cucumber in a blender and add the pureed cucumber in the yogurt. Apply it on your face and neck, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes rinse off with warm water, and finish up with a splash of cold water and you’re good to go. PS It’s great for combination skin.
