Recipe: Learn How To Make “The Chew” Chef Carla Hall’s Perfect Bakewell Tart

One of my favorite non-chocolate desserts has to be the traditional English bakewell tart! As a novice baker, I’ve never had the courage to bake one, but thanks to “The Chew” chef Carla Hall, this is definitely next on my list to bake. On the June 9th episode of “The Chew” Carla Hall gave fellow novice baker and guest, supermodel Chrissy Teigen a lesson in making the perfect pie crust and her recipe for a bakewell tart with delicious raspberry jam.

Bakewell tart ingredients 

  • Pâte Sucrée
  • Eggs
  • Heavy cream
  • Vanilla extract
  • Flour
  • Powdered sugar
  • Salt
  • Unsalted butter
  • Raspberry jam
  • Granulated sugar
  • Ground almonds
  • Almond extract
  • Salt
  • Sliced almonds
  • Lemon
  • Water
  • Food processor or my trusty Vitamix
  • Rolling pin
  • Tart pan
