Happy Friday! Can you believe spring is officially here? If spring cleaning and organizing your home is on your list of tasks to complete this weekend, you’re in luck. Lifestyle expert, Justine Santaniello joined me yesterday to dish her favorite tips for cleaning and organizing your home, and the must have products you need to ensure you get the job done well and effortlessly!
Candace Rose: Why do we choose spring for cleaning?
Justine Santaniello: “I think people choose spring for cleaning because it’s a new season which means it’s a new start, a fresh start. It’s a great time to get everything clean and organized. Plus, Candace, I’m sure you’ll agree- I don’t want to be doing this in the summer. That’s the time when we want to have fun and relax. Get it all done now, so you don’t have to worry about it later.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any tips on getting organized this season?
Justine Santaniello: “I do, actually. Something you may not have thought about is organizing your tech. Tech is so important to us now, we are so attached to our cellphones so you want to make sure it’s organized. You can actually clean your cellphone bill with Tracfone – the no contract service provider, they’re offering Android smartphone plans- talk, text and data for as low as $7 a month. Right now for a limited time, you can save $50 on smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Centura. You can get this at retailers like Target, even RadioShack.
Once your bill is cleaned up, you want to make sure the phone itself is clean and organized. You want to get rid of all those old and junk files, and you can do this by downloading the KS Mobile Clean Master App. This is a top rated app, it’s going to free up space. It’s going to kill off those buggy apps that slow our phones down and it’s going to keep your private information secure. So now you have a clean bill and you have a clean and organized cellphone.”
Candace Rose: How can we make cleaning our homes easier?
Justine Santaniello: “When we move into the home, bigger tasks like vacuuming- 75% of U.S. homes have hard floors and carpets that they need to clean which is a big job, so you want to make sure that you have the right tool for the job like the Dyson DC65 Animal vacuum. This is great, it’s going to clean both your carpets and your hardwood floors better than any other vacuum out there. It has twice the suction, so it’s going to pick up things like dust and pet dander which can cause allergies this time of year, plus it has great attachments- it has a tangle-free tools which is great for girls like us, Candace, with our hair. We don’t have to worry about our hair getting caught in the bristles.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share?
Justine Santaniello: “When it comes to big rooms like the bathroom- I know that that can be a lot, you want to break it up into smaller chunks, set time limits for each. A recent study actually found that cleaning the toilet is actually the most dreaded task in America, which I know is no surprise to you, right? Nobody wants to do it, but it doesn’t have to be that dreaded. I like to use this in my house (please see video above for details) it’s the Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush Starter Kit & Caddy. This has a new formula which eliminates odors, removes lime scale, cleans under the rim and below the water….plus it has two tips of pads- heavy duty and flushable. The Flushable is great because it’s touchless so it makes it really easy and sanitary for you.
And finally, we can’t talk about spring cleaning without talking about laundry. Laundry does not have to be a daunting task. If you have the right appliance like LG’s Front Control Top Load Washer. This has a streamline intelligent design. The control panel is right there in the front, plus it has LG’s turbo wash technology which saves up to 20 minute per load of laundry, even in those larger loads that we have that has mega capacity- which means you’re doing more laundry in fewer loads which we all want.”
