Candace Rose: The winter-like weather can make it hard to get to the gym. Do you have any suggestions?

Katie Linendoll: “I’m loving Xbox One, and what comes with Xbox One is super cool and exclusive is Xbox Fitness, and how awesome is this to keep in shape and keep that New Year’s resolution. You can actually digitally access workouts for every fitness level, and train with top celebrities from the comfort of your own home. It’s celebrities that you know too- Jillian Michaels, Tony Horton of P90X, Tracy Anderson. And if you’re not doing things right they’re going to correct you. But you can also use Kinect. Kinect is so advanced and it can actually track your movements, your heart rate, and it’ll put you up against users in the community too. So if you’re competitive like myself and work out every single day (I get competitive working out against others as well) right on the screen in real time….so Xbox Fitness is awesome and exclusive to Xbox One.”

Candace Rose: How about laptops and tablets?

Katie Linendoll: “Lots of people always asking me about the latest and greatest laptops but they don’t always want to spend thousands of dollars – this is an awesome little option, it’s almost like a sneak peek because it’s only been on the market two days (as of Friday, February 28, 2014). It’s the HP Pavilion X360, and it’s been called the 360 because it has a 360 degree hinge, so you can use it in a number of different modes, so whether you’re just watching just videos or create a presentation- awesome for both work and play and very versatile. It has features galore, $399 price point with all the features from an 11.6 inch touchscreen to Beats Audio to an HD webcam and just around three pounds. This baby has you absolutely hooked up – HP Pavilion X360.”

Candace Rose: Is there anything for those of us who are trying to eat healthier?

Katie Linendoll: “Trying to eat healthier- you’ve got to check out this gadget right here (please see video above for details) this is from Whirlpool, they came out with a number of new microwaves with hood options with smart features. Talk about eating healthier, I’ve never seen a microwave which you can actually steam vegetables and steam fish in. There’s a nice option for steaming which I’ve never seen before. But also, there’s a feature called AccuPop, it can actually listen and sense when popcorn is perfectly done. And last but not least it also uses smart sensor cooking technology.

I sometimes just throw food in the microwave and hit a bunch of buttons and hit start. This, you can actually just push a button and it will sense when your food is done. It will finish it, and cook it efficiently for you….so you don’t even have to think about it. So, new from Whirlpool, some really new options starting at 419 bucks.”

Candace Rose: Are you seeing any advancements in home health devices?

Katie Linendoll: “Home health devices, I have to show you one from iHealth that my dad actually stole from me. This is really cool because one in three Americans actually have high blood pressure, and 20% of those aren’t even aware that they have the condition. My dad has high blood pressure and he’s always tracking it. What he did is he bought this big cumbersome blood pressure tracking unit. Now he has this little guy (please see video above for details). This sucker – .23 pounds. It’s from iHealth and you can pick it up at ihealthlabs.com. It connects wirelessly, you just put it on your wrist; and using Bluetooth technology it’ll go right to your smartphone. He has an iPhone so it’ll send all the data right there- daily measurements and all those statistics right to his iPhone. It also works for select Android devices. But now you can actually monitor, track and share with family and friends and caregivers. So instead of having him go in with a piece of paper that he always forgets to the doctor, he can actually just show him his smartphone and all the information is right there.”

Candace Rose: Thank you so much, Katie. Where can we go for more information?

Katie Linendoll: “We have a direct website with all of these products, you can head to ThunkNews.com/HomeTech.”
