Holiday Shopping: Over 20 Sewing Machines Under $200, $100, $50 and Even $20!!

Over the last few years, one of the most important things I’ve wanted to do is learn how to sew and buy a sewing machine. Everyone who knows my grandmother and how talented she was when it came to the art of sewing and embroidery (before Alzheimer’s took that from her) is shocked when they learn I don’t know how to sew. I really took it for granted growing up when my grandma would tell me she wanted to teach me; I thought we’d always have time…but unfortunately, due to memory loss she has lost all capability of sewing and I never got the chance to learn from the greatest seamstress my family and friends know.

I do know how to knit and I’m learning how to crochet, often I’ll show her what I’m working on, and every time I do she gets the biggest grin on her face. I’d love to learn how to make my own pillows, lavender sachets, quilts, various craft projects….(the list is endless). As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, this year I decided that I was going to carve more time out for ME. When I don’t do that, I notice it. Last night I was wide awake at three, and of course when you’re up in the middle of the night, you have nothing better to do while your family is asleep than ponder why you’re awake…right?! I came to the conclusion that it was because I was up working until midnight. I didn’t take the time to relax.

My new found hobbies have been so amazing to me, they’ve helped me stay “sane” during times of enormous stress. I’ve been on the hunt as of late for a new sewing machine, so I can finally learn how to sew. I guess I could wait until Black Friday, but I found some great ones under $200, $100, $50 and even handheld ones under $20! How fab is that? If you’re also in the market to learn how to sew and looking to buy one that’s cost effective…here are a few that I’ve found that would be great for beginners! Happy Crafting! 🙂
