Summer Beauty Remedies with Beauty Expert Justine Santaniello

With summer 2013 nearly officially coming to a close, beauty and lifestyle expert Justine Santaniello joined me to dish on the secret to looking fab this fall! If you’re a fellow DIYer, you’ll love her makeup remover which you can create in the comfort of your own home!

Candace Rose: How can we get ourselves back in tiptop shape as the summer comes to a close?

Justine Santaniello: “This summer was brutal with that heat wave across the country. Our bodies have taken a toll, so the key is you want to reevaluate your beauty routine now and your skincare, but also update your look to take you right into the fall. A great place to start and an easy place to start is with your smile.

Now, Candace, I don’t know about you…but I’ve got this nice little tan going on right now, so my smile looks a little whiter and brighter, and people notice it. BUT we don’t have a tan all year long, you want to keep your smile looking its best and it’s so easy to do. All you need to do is make sure you’re brushing for the two minute dentist recommended brushing time, and also just using the right toothpaste. The Arm & Hammer Advanced White toothpaste with Stain Defense has both baking soda and peroxide to brighten your smile, but also to help keep new stains from forming. This is great to have for that bright smile all yearlong.

Now another area that’s really taken its toll for the summer: our skin for sure, battling the elements. You want to start a new basic skincare routine now that you can carry in the rest of the year. Some easy things that you should be doing like removing your makeup before going to sleep, washing your face at night. I don’t know if you knew this but when you fall asleep your skin regenerates itself, so you want to help it out and remove all the oil, the dirt, the pollutants. You also want to remove your makeup. I’m a big fan of home remedies, and you can make your own homemade makeup remover, all you need are equal parts oil and witch hazel. You want to make sure you shake it up real well before you use it, but you have your own at-home makeup remover.”

Candace Rose: That’s amazing! Thanks for those great tips. Where can we go for more information?

Justine Santaniello: “You can head to my website: JustineSantaniello.com.”
