Candace Rose: What are some new great ways parents can keep their kids entertained this spring?

Scott Steinberg: “There’s tons of great options for entertainment, whether it’s games or high tech gear. I actually partnered up with some top companies to talk about some great ways to get the fun and excitement started.

So right off the bat, if you’re looking for a perfect portable game for the beach or car, we’ll start with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. This is the latest in the hugely popular Pokemon franchise. That’s on Nintendo 3DS Handheld, definitely check it out. It’s got different dungeons every time you play. Kids can dive right in and easily play as one of five fan favorite Pokemon. They’re going to battle and befriend other characters, collect treasure and it even has wireless co-op play so kids can play together, which is really cool. You can pick it up at national retailers or you can download it from the Nintendo eShop along with additional dungeons. So always something new to see there.

Of course if you want some fun indoors and you happen to be planning a family game night, also check out Lego City Undercover, that’s exclusive to the Wii U. This one’s really cool, it’s based on the Lego City series playsets. Kids love those, and it’s an original storyline, you basically go through a living breathing 3D city solving crimes at your own pace, it’s open world and has over 100 different vehicles and tons of disguises to play with. It has something for everybody, and with the Wii U GamePad controller (it’s got a touchscreen) you can actually use that to interact with your TV, listen in on criminals, scan forĀ  clues. It’s a unique way to play, and the game’s been getting some great reviews.

Of course if you’ve got a PC gamer, you’re going to want to get them the latest and greatest in high performance gear. It’s Logitech’s G Line of gaming accessories, this is really cool, you get mice keyboards, and headsets that deliver massive new advancements. So better performance, better precision on these and better accuracy, better response times, and mice and keyboards even have a special coding on them so your hands won’t stick. The nice part is the Logitech G Line really all about – they did intensive research here and what they found is how gamers use their devices, they really studied that and crafted a full line of gaming accessories for the PC that really delivers. When science wins, apparently gamers win as well and definitely some great options.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any entertaining ideas for those who are planning on staying at home?

Scott Steinberg: “Well, if you are planning on staying at home, what I would think about doing is getting a bunch of games that are meant specifically for multiplayer. They may have co-op on them like we were saying, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity where people can play together whether it’s wirelessly, whether they’re sharing the controller. You might also think about singing or dancing games, you can find a lot of those on the Wii U. So basically everybody can get up and moving, you don’t have to worry about taking turns, so try and find a lot of good multiplayer options. And many of these mainly because they’re designed around music or adventures or real world topics, you can find a lot of options that parents and kids can play with.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share?

Scott Steinberg: “Definitely if you want to find more information and want some good suggestions on how to maximize your family game night or some great spring and summer picks, you can go to TechSavvyMag.com, that’s website and lots of info there.”
