With spring officially here and warmer temps on their way in the next month or so, it’s not only time to start thinking about brightening up your wardrobe, but your beauty arsenal as well! Beauty expert, Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot joined me for an interview this week to share tips on the must haves you need to ensure you look and feel fab this spring and summer.
Candace Rose: With spring officially here what are the biggest beauty trends and must haves this season?
Jeannine Morris: “In the spring we want to wear those bright bold colors and we want to show off our skin, and it’s really the time to wear sleeveless styles and show yourself off, take off those layers.
I recommend starting right off in the shower, and you want to moisturize your skin. St. Ives came out with a body wash called the Revitalizing Pear & Soy body wash. This body wash helps to rejuvenate your skin and moisturize it. It has pear extract, soy and glycerine. Glycerine is a moisturizing ingredient that’s 100% natural. It also leaves behind a smell on your skin- a scent that’s so nice, refreshing, it’s super light and the scent of pear. It’s perfect for spring. You can find more about the St. Ives collection on their Facebook page.
Next I want to talk about deodorant. It’s a must have for spring-summer, obviously for odor protection and sweat; but I found an interesting survey stat that 61% of women ages 18-35 feel more sexy and feminine when wearing something sleeveless. I have to recommend a good deodorant like Dove’s Go Sleeveless because it’s more than odor and wetness protection, it’s actually about what the skin under your arms looks like and feels like to feel confident enough to wear something sleeveless. It offers 48 hour odor and wetness protection, but it also gives you smoother and softer underarms in just five days. It takes care of shaving irritation, and it has vitamins E and F in it plus extra moisturizers to take care of that skin underneath your underarms. It has a couple different fragrances, and you can find out more about the collection on Dove.com.
Next let’s talk about color. Each season trends change, the colors change and all the must haves change. Well, this season I’m going to give you the tip of putting fashion on your fingertips because it’s nearly impossible to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe that suits the trends. So this is a budget friendly tip, and I always turn to Creative Nail Design to teach me about the trends. Creative Nail Design always puts fashion first. They’ve been backstage at New York Fashion Week for 17 years collaborating with designers, on colors and trends; they’re the ones that are painting the models nails backstage before they walk the runways during fashion week. They have the shellac polish which I’m obsessed with. I have it on my nails right now. It’s the hybrid between a gel manicure and a regular polish. It lasts for 14 days and does not chip, so it’s like God’s gift to women. Their spring collection has a lot of pretty pastel shades and then their summer collection has more punchy iridescent colors that are very vibrant and exactly what you’d want to wear on your nails for summer. You can go to CND.com to find a salon in your area that does the Creative Nail Design shellac.”
Candace Rose: Are there any other beauty must haves we should know about?
Jeannine Morris: “Well, for must haves you definitely want to make sure your skin is fresh and you’re wearing a pop of color somewhere- if not on your nails, on your lips or on your outfit because it is spring and that’s what we want to see.”
Candace Rose: Where can we go for more information?
Jeannine Morris: “You can find more on Lifeminute.tv.”
